Also, if there is a slim and a price drop, Sony can bundle the first Uncharted, this way a LOT of pepole will be suddenly exposed to the franchise, so Uncharted 2's sells will be increased by a very large margain.



Bet with Dr.A.Peter.Nintendo that Super Mario Galaxy 2 won't sell 15 million copies up to six months after it's release, the winner will get Avatar control for a week and signature control for a month.

Well KZ2 had a lot of commercials, but dissapointing sales, i really though KZ2 was going to outsell Gears of War 2.

Killzone2 is the 2nd best selling game released this year on a single console

Resident Evil 5 is #1.

I dont see how that's disappointing.

Kz2. No hate for U2 but I just want one of my fav games to stay on top lol.

internet hype does not = real life hype.

I didnt see any in-store ads for KZ2. No promotion pre-order bonuses. Barely any commercials (I saw more commercials for InFAmous that kz2)

MOST people here expected killzone2 do go gangbusters in sales, and it wasnt just internet hype.  The game was all over the written gaming media as a major blockbuster... gaming TV channels had 'specials' about it.

So can you give us a formula of how much sales should be generated from said hype that a game should be considered better than "average"?

PS3 owners dont really buy FPS exclusives, Uncharted 2 will sell more.

Yes if you look at the history of popular Playstation games even dating back to PsOne and Ps2...most of them are in 3rd person (Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid2,3,4,  etc). FPS have never really been that popular on Playstation consoles until this genre whereas 3rd person  always have been popular.

 

Since many Ps3 owners are former PsOne and Ps2 owners, I assume 3rd person is the view of choice for them.
