Forums - Sales - Apple wonders: Where is this recession we keep hearing about?

IMO no stock is a safe place for money, especially not right now...

With the recession, volatile currency values and the globalized nature of commerce it's a big risk to invest right now. I'm just short (i.e. betting for lower prices) on the overall stock market, no specific investments.

Probably because they sell their computers at such high prices, resulting in more profit ;P

Microsoft must be even worse for hosing their customers then, since they have a much higher profit to revenue ratio than Apple. ;)

Love of hate apple, they run a very tight ship business wise.

If nothing else this is a great economic indicator.

More like anecdotal data...

Whenever people are willing to invest in a premium product in a downturn that is a great sign. Indicator= anecdote but a great sign indeed. Street estimates were significantly lower.

Yeah I always love how people who talk about Apple being overpriced miss that point. MS has insane margins thanks to overpriced OS software and Office suites.
