Forums - PC - Dark Fall Online - Anyone try it yet?

@gnizmo - ah gotcha. My only thought is, will they be so hardcore about not changing their system if people abandon the game in droves? Will they be happy to go down with the ship? DF has been in development for like 4 years. I wonder if they're willing to abort their baby in lieu of going bankrupt.

I doubt the people playing it will quit it, because they are so few and like that stuff so much. There's isn't any other MMORPG so archaic to my knowledge, so they have to bare with that even though the controls are clunky like hell.

Around the Network

The hardcore base they are appealing to is extremely fickle actually. Given the fact that the company behind Dark Fall has already started pulling shady stunts to try and get more money out of people, I can't say that I see them as in a strong position not to give into the player base from a financial stand point. I also don't think they will, but explaining why I think that would end in a few personal insults against their staff.

@memory - Well, when you're dealing with a MMO, you're taliing about server maintenance. If they're not making enough money to maintain the servers, and in turn operate at a loss, they're not going to stick around for very long. The problem with subscription based games is that you have to whore out your baby to make money. What you dream/envision as the perfect MMO might not be well received by the public, so you have to change to bring people into the game, or just watch your game flop and die.
