BRAENTON - A mother and son duo are arrested for stealing a video game.
It happened Sunday at the Wal-Mart in Bradenton.
Loss prevention officers noticed 22-year-old James Slaughter opening a video game box and stealing the contents.
Slaughter and his mother, 41-year-old Cathy Slaughter, were approached by K-9 deputies and loss prevention as they left the store. When he was confronted, deputies say James Slaughter tried to run and the K-9 bit him in the leg and buttocks.
While deputies were handcuffing her son, Cathy Slaughter tried to grab one of the deputies. She is being charged with obstruction and battery on a law enforcement officer. Her son is charged with theft and resisting arrest.
They both remain in the Manatee County Jail.
