Not for movie or game purchases, but for their avatar clothes and what not most definitely. Home would flourish if it was built into becoming something similar to Gaia Online. Have a virtual currancy which you can earn through doing tasks within the game or simply flat out purchase. Also they need to have a significantly larger selection of things to buy so people have the motivation to do either.
If Sony can do this, Home could really become the selling point for PS3s that Sony may hope it can become.
playstation HOME is a complete failure.
all those resources could have been allocated to making psn way better.
instead PSN is known as the gimped version of XBOX LIVE
and HOME is known as a gimped version of second life because it is boring.

I shoudl have expected that confusion... I've been a victim of it in other threads. My own posts start after the link to the article. My bad. |
lol you really need to format quoted things in quotes man.

Meh home is like Wi Sports some people will love it, many others won't care. I'm in the second group for both :D
PROUD MEMBER OF THE PSP RPG FAN CLUB
I don't think they expect 100% of all PS3 owners to get on.
It's common sense that this isn't for everybody.
Not all gamers are into this. It doesn't take a 60% rate of gamers that go on Home
to make it successful, that would be BEYOND successful.

Most have far, far, far more... Twitter, the new kid on the block, had 14mil users in the US alone by March of '08 (Nielson Online). Worse, there's no confirmation yet, but most are reporting that the actual figures are 25% of the total PSN accounts (just over 5 mil) have visited home, and only 80% of them have come back a second time.
-25% of 22mil accounts have visited home= 5.5mil
-80% have come back a second time= 4.4mil
So, fewer than 1 in 4 users home users visit more than once, and they are only a fraction of the number of folks that COULD access it. Home is failing to catch on, and as evidenced here and elsewhere, it's because the majority of PS3 owners think it's lame.
