Forums - Microsoft - Getting an Xbox360, but Where from (UK) and What games?

I've been thinking of getting an Xbox360 for a long time and now I have a second  LCD TV dedicated to Gaming it seems to be the perfect time to get one.

Do you think this is a good deal?

  • Xbox 360 Premium Console
  • Additional White Wireless Controller
  • Burnout Ultimate Paradise
  • Trivial Pursuit
  • Connect 4
  • Tenchu Z
  • Kingdom Under Fire
  • £189.95

*UPDATE Amazon.co.uk Price is £172 with a free HDMI cable*

Only burn out Paradise looks good to me, but I think the family would like Trivial Pursuit. The Extra controller is great to.

Is there anywhere you know of where I can get a very good price on a X360 or a great bundle?

Please give me some game recommendations to go with it to..

I think Argos do it pretty cheap.

Tesco's normally does good offers every now and then, but they never advertise them, just go in and see what deals they have got on at the moment

That seems like a pretty good deal, me and my friend went to GAME, I don't think they're the cheapest though.

from amazon you get the 60GB pro for £160 with a free HDMI cable, and then a selected game for £10 (I reccomend CoD 4) and then buy GeoW 2 for £18 from there too. Here is their bundles page:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html/ref=amb_link_84379193_4?ie=UTF8&docId=1000095443&pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0YTK3DVGX4AEKF6J8ZK8&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470407873&pf_rd_i=300703

There are more offers there too

I can't really reccomend you games unless you give some genres, but from your profile I see you don't have a PS3, so I would reccomend:

    CoD 4
    Gears of War 2
    Halo Wars
    Lost Odyssey
    Mass Effect
    Burnout Paradise
    Grand Theft Auto IV

    Gamestation do good deals.

Tend to offer 360's with a game or 2 of your choosing.

    Extra controller ect.

    Asda

I actually can't recommend you to any xbox 360 games because the xbox 360 hardly has any exclusives at the moment. The only exclusives I could reccommend you are halo 3 and gears of war 2.

Heres a thread with a bunch of game advice, its a little outdated so:

Kameo (Cheap and fun action RPG)

Condemned 1/2 (Cheap and really fun, FPS/Horror/Brawler the first is better IMO)

Gears of War 1 (awesome shooter, really easy to play with Coop)

Halo 3 (The esteemed master, easiest FPS to get 3 mates and yourself playing)

Mass Effect (Shooter/WRPG hybrid, a little slow at the start but has an excellent story, also quite cheap)

Oblivion (Excellent WRPG open world game with a ton of content, a steal at the price it is now and can be had in a double pack with Bioshock)

Bioshock (Considered perhaps the best single player shooter this gen for atmosphere and story, also cheap)

Project Gotham 3/4 (fun arcade racers and very cheap so little risk in trying them)

Forza 2 (same as above, though Forza 3 is coming this year FYI)

Crackdown (fun excellent open world sandbox shooter, very cheap atm)

Dark Sector (Cheap, fun story but may lack replayability, 3rd person shooter)

Lost Odyssey/Blue Dragon (Fun turn based JRPGs also reduced in price, made by creator of Final Fantasy Series)

These are games which I know are cheap and have personally enjoyed. Its good to start with cheap games to fill out your collection, much better value IMO than full priced games. You may as well buy them new if they are cheap as used Xbox 360 games can be scratched and repaired and they may not work properly.

    Tease.

@ squilliam, firstly quite a few of those aren't out, you should probably seperate the arcade games, and the MW 2 maps aren't exclusive, just timed exclusive and exclusives no longer count once they have superior sequels which are multiplatform... So they aren't really exclusives, but what you should be recommending is the best HD games, as he does not have a PS3, so exclusives do not really come into this. There is no reason to start a list war

Sorry Munkeh, it just seemed like fun. Post deleted!
