I would like to start of by thanking all of you for sharing your thoughts with me.

I always read every reply and i also reply to some, I saw some good points and bad points being raised and i just had to make a new thread based on all of the comments i read.  First of all the subject was Metal gear solid rising (could) sell 10m.  For those who said that the main character in MGSR raiden will dissapoint the metal gear fans because they like snake more,  Let me remind you that the best selling MGS game to date is MGS2 with 7m and guess whose the main character in that game? Its raiden.

When this game releases in (my guess) 2010 it will release simuntaneously for 2 very successful consoles a first for a MGS game.

By 3rd or 4th quarter 2010 the 360 will reach around 50m user base and the ps3 will reach around 40m especially with a price cut and slim ps3 both coming this year and a huge amount of exclusives like gt5 and god of war 3.

Thats a combined user base of 90MILLION so when MGSR releases simuntaneously for both in 2010 it will have huge sales, MGS4 sold 1.3m on day one and thats just with 15m user base on one console.

Here is my first day sales predictions for both consoles the ps3 2.5m 360 2m = 4.5m its possible with a 90m user base.

A spin off MGS game is just what MGS fans are looking for right now especially since raiden is a bad ass ninja hes come along way from mgs2

thats for sure and casual gamers will like to try out a cool ninja game done right for once.

Because people fuckin hated him! LOL... ppl complained, protested, etc. NOBODY liked Raiden in MGS2 so dont try using that to justify your post. MGS2 sold the best because it was the first MGS game released on the best selling console ever, and it was coming off the huge success of MGS1.

Still, MGS:R can't sell 10 million. Plus, MGS2 did 5.58 million, and MGS 3 did 4.02 million, on the ps2. Wich is the best selling console to date. 10 million doesn't seem to likely for Rising.

Can't we just stop this until we see more of the game? It's a spin-off made by an entirely different team! We don't know how it'll be anyways...

I agree that 10 million still seems too high to me but are there still people foolish enough to say it won't hit 5 million LT sales? Cause to me that sounds about right on the money.

They all love raiden just not as much as snake MGS1 had a ninja MGS2 had a ninja MGS4 had raiden as a ninja.

Plus MGS2 released in nov 2001 and the user base for ps2 was not that much and it stll managed to sell well.

MGS3 didnt even have snake in it it had his father and was based in the 60s oooowned ......

MGS4 was snakes final mission and the game was all about him and raiden was still in the game but he wasnt playable oooowned ......

I had to send you back to school there because your clueless,  kojima always had high hopes for raiden and he'll be very involved in MGSR he said so himself.
