I know its a long read but i really need help so if you could please read it
I've been with my bank at Natwest(in the UK) for about 6 years and I've never had a problem. About 3 months ago I was caught in the highstreet by people hounding/guilt tripping you into helping for a charity This time it was the NSPCC, I kept thinking to myself ill agree to get it over with, and then cancel the direct debit,( dont get me wrong I'm all for giving to charity putting money in pots etc, but I don't like them taking money out of my account) anyways they rang a few days later and asked if it was ok to carry on, but I cancelled it there with them, id just finished working at tesco and i was hungry and i remmeberd I had like 80p left in my bank so I bought a boost bar, then all the shit started to happen. The Nspcc carried out the charge still despite me canceliing it, and cause I don't have an over draft they charged me £37:90 And I was really annoyed and i thought it was the charge from the Nspcc but it wasnt, because they'd taken the money out, and i thought i had 80p left in the account, that was also the charge for buying the chocolate bar in my overdraft which I didnt think I was in. I then thought this was all paid for but they charged me the next month for the nspcc but because i thought it was paid for i had no money in the account, so the bank itself put me in an overdraft, and guess what, they charged me again for going in the overdraft , and now they have sent me a letter saying expect another charge on the 4th of august for a total off £66 pound for the buying that chocolate bar, but i thought i already paid that off :S any way all in all I paid/going to pay the bank about £220 in bank charges for £8 for the nspcc which i thought was cancelled and a chocolate bar, There is no way on earth that can be justified
main questions are, can i claim it back? and can anyone suggest a better bank with not so harsh bank charges
