I know lots of people that are getting in on the iphone bandwagon. One of my mates is developing a poker game or something.

Thats the great thing about huge userbases, you only need a very small amount of people to buy your product to make some nice cash.

Yea, and for developers like me, there would be no way I could make an app, find a distributer and publisher who will sell it.

On the App store, you pay $99, and you are allowed to make 5 apps under that in a year. If you want to make more, just pay another $99.

Apple takes 30% of your sales, and the rest goes to you. I don't need to worry about taking credit cards, or anything.

Make it, submit it, and bam! 40 million people can buy it. It's an amazing thing for developers. (provided you already have a mac and iPhone, and I do.)

1- I'm trying to find a job with better pay (my current job pays below average for my experience... it was basically the first job I could find at the time, I was under pressure to get a job since I'm not living in my native country).

2- I'll buy a used car instead of a new car in a few months. It will easily be 3 times cheaper than a new car.

3- I won't use my car much, certainly not for going to work. Public transportation is good here in Sweden, and I wouldn't like to drive everyday anyway (for ecological reasons).

4- I'm buying more used games instead of new.

That's it, not much so far but things which will definitely raise my savings for a rainy day. I won't be able to save much in the short term since I'm buying a house right now and there will be furniture and stuff like that to buy.

Fortunately my girlfriend is starting a very safe job, as a PhD student, so we feel safe right now in terms of income!

I wont change nothing.

Sweden is such a rich country, the Crysis don't affect us much.

NJ5 lives in Stockholm confirmed.

No, actually I live in Uppsala (though I'll move nearer to Stockholm soon). Why did you think Stockholm? ;)

I'm pretty dam good at saving my money, that said I am 17 and have yet to live on my own for more than a couple of months. Next year will be a test for me as I move away from London to go to Bristol UWE uni.

My only regular expense that is unnecessary is tequila, lol.

We're neighbors then. ^^

I thought Stockholm because u refuse to drive your car to work, it's the only city where it's not worth it.

Oh :)

Yeah I work in Stockholm, my commute is way too long right now. I'll be moving to Märsta soon which is good for commuting both to Stockholm and Uppsala where my girlfriend will do her PhD.

But why don't you just get a job in Uppsala? There's plenty of comp businesses here.

That's possible, it would be rather funny to find a job in Uppsala after moving to another town.

The main problem for me to find a job here is that my Swedish speaking is still crap (reading and understanding not so bad), so that highly reduces the jobs I can get ;)
