Anything that is good or great would be better if it was free. Live could and should be free. I dont think anyone is arguing for the logic that a free live service would be financially viable for Microsoft. They will make money with Live for as long as it costs to use it- of course.

@edimion; what are you arguing for?
are you saying since Microsoft is beginning to offer the possibility of downloading full games that Blu-Ray is somehow less legitimate?

You may have an argument if all sku's of the 360 were always sold with a hard drive. But I really doubt any developer would release a 7gb disc dvd9 (Microsoft standard format) and then require that another 30 gigs be downloaded and streamed through the hard drive, because that would be alienating a huge portion or the existing 360 userbase.

For Microsofts next system, the DL game system makes more sense, therefor taking away the advantage that blu-ray has over dvd9. BUT the PS3 is already set up to do this. Sony is actually ahead of Microsoft in the DL arena so far, seeing how all skus have always shipped with a hard drive. Plus they already offer alot of full PS3 games on the PSN. Sony will not tip toe into the DL home console arena at a slow pace because of a fear of loosing blu-ray support. The two can and will exist at the same time imo. They already do!

@OP; It will be nice to browse Netflix on my 360, it is slightly lame to have to use your PC as of now. I use the netflix all the time, and this feature will be great.

no my argument is a disc in general are useless now a day...... and should be obsolete... which makes BR a technological inovation joke imo... just a BS argument to make look like a product better more bad ass.... best proof of that is in the PC world more and more laptops come without a disc drive.... 2009 every console should be rrunning with and only with a high capacity HDD..... and price or size is not the issue..... it's just peeps need a bone to chew on... and love shinny boxes and all.... so yeah BR add ons no thank you... offer me a 500Gb HD at the same price....

it's because PS3 fanboys can't stand the thought of XBL finally being worth the money it costs.

It was a 360 fan that first compared XBL to PSN in this thread:

I was talking about what Sony said about Games OnDemand...Not comparing XBL to anything

@Taz : That is because you don't know what you are talking about -> Never used the quick launch/Contextual button ? Welcome in 2009...

PSN more user friendly than XBL ... what a f*cking joke...

Last time I tried to connect via PSN to somebody, I had to write his nick on a piece of paper, re-copy it in the entry window and make the connection...that is sooooooooo user-friendly indeed...

Evan Wells (Uncharted 2): I think the differences that you see between any two games has much more to do with the developer than whether it’s on the Xbox or PS3.

All this new stuff is free. It's only actually playing online that needs gold.

I LOVE the NXE interface. It has the best features, and by FAR the best interface Imo.
Anyway, nice update.........And that 1v100 shit kicks ass.

Fixed^

No, I hate the way Live is made up of lots off screens that I have to flick through, whereas in PSN everything is displayed for me on the XMB (which I think is better). This is just my stance, and Im not arguing about features, cause XBL has more. The way I see it, is that you pay £35 odd a year for Parties, private chat, Netflix etc, and I would not use these features enough to warrant paying for XBL.

I hope you understand, you'l probably call me a troll or something though, but I dont really give a shit. I think PSN is better layed out and more user friendly, and you cant change that.

XMB is functional, but boring as hell to look at. NXE also is much more streamlined. Everything is where it needs to be. XMB needs an overhaul it looks old next to NXE, like the old 360 interface looked old next to XMB.

Well, if you are active on XBL, and you're smart in your shopping habits, XBL can be free...

This is why Xbox Live costs money. You have to keep the best updated.

psn gets updated for free

like the best online service, XBL.

So that means PS3 is 2x better then xbox360 since it costs twice as much.

LOL. NXE gets updated for free to.

Seems PS3 owners dont quite understand. GOLD means you can play onoline. If you have Silver ( free ) everything else still works.
