Those numbers show how bad the price cut has hurt profits, but I guess without it things would of been worse. More OT - I expect a roughly Flat showing for the Y.O.Y numbers as even though the 360 is selling better this year, I cant see it doing as good this fall compared to last.

They had a huge increase in R+D (over 300M?) but please, I don't want to disturb your propaganda work over here.

Thanks for your valuable input...

Don't feed the troll. MS made probably a profit with the Xbox360 around 200 - 250 million (R&D for Zune HD, bad sales for office on mac and very bad sales for the already available zune are to blame)

But anyway: I really expect a slow 3-month-period for MS overall. It won't be up YoY, because there was GTA IV out last year. Windows sales might be not that high as well, because Windows 7 is around the corner. Who would buy Vista NOW with Windows 7 showing up?

Office sales might have been good, server-stuff as well. But overall I expect they will post mostly identical numbers like last time.

Of course, this is just some speculation. If I had any facts, you would see me without pants diving in Australia.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

As valuable as yours, just slightly later ;)

Current-gen game collection uploaded on the profile, full of win and good games; also most of my PC games. Lucasfilm Games/LucasArts 1982-2008 (Requiescat In Pace).

Its a shame MS entertainment divisions are tied togheter with bunch of different products. therefore we never get a clear picture.

I think its safe to assume that Ms is not making or losing money on consoles. They may make lots of money on Elite, a little bit on the pro and lose some on arcade...

So all 360 revenue for this quarter should come form game/online sales and licencing fees. Xbox live memberships as well... If they ad any heavy R&D they may post a slight loss again IMO.

I'd personally wish the Xbawx had it's own division mostly for visibility purposes.

The level of revenue has little to do with the amount of profit they make. The EDD is way more than the 360 as we saw last quarter.

In fact last quarter, they made as much revenue as the Christmas quarter and still made a loss. In fact in Christmas, they went all out on advertising and sold tonnes of hardare and software and yet their revenue stayed the same.

It's a management problem,...if Gaming had it' own division, you'd have yet another Executive VP and staff for the division, and if M$ is goign to integrate Zune more closely with XBL...it's a tricky situation.  As it stands now, I think saavy readers of 10-Q's and 10-K can spot out how the money is flowing in EDD and see that Xbox is prospering, and allowing M$ the flexibility to expand on Zune and other areas.  That's why I'm really interested to see this quarters report, and hte 2010 outlook...I think it might be slightly flat, unless they plan on releasing Natal before their fiscal year is out.
