It's a team from Greece (to be fair, the only player we got from there it's the third goal keeper )

Current PC Build

CPU - i7 8700K 3.7 GHz (4.7 GHz turbo) 6 cores OC'd to 5.2 GHz with Watercooling (Hydro Series H110i) | MB - Gigabyte Z370 HD3P ATX | Gigabyte GTX 1080ti Gaming OC BLACK 11G (1657 MHz Boost Core / 11010 MHz Memory) | RAM - Corsair DIMM 32GB DDR4, 2400 MHz | PSU - Corsair CX650M (80+ Bronze) 650W | Audio - Asus Essence STX II 7.1 | Monitor - Samsung U28E590D 4K UHD, Freesync, 1 ms, 60 Hz, 28"

these unrealistic expectations always happen. even though he was decisive in 2002 (when he was still in PSG), people always remember that Ronaldinho never played with the national team what he played at Barcelona. Rooney, Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, etc. for Cristiano Ronaldo it's even worse I think, because the rest of the team is clearly one level below him and Deco.

and, if the topic creator ever wishes to update the first post again, my team is Sport Club Internacional.

Yeah I agree, although it's a shame that Nani got injured, he was on par with Cristiano Ronaldo and Deco's level. The main problem for Portugal now is to adapt to a 4-4-2 style (with Dani/Simao and Hugo Almeida on the front), something that has been rarely done, as Portugal mostly plays with 4-2-2-2 or 4-3-1-2.

Wow. USA and England draw. 1-1.

I have to say very very lucky for USA. England played alot better. And the 2nd half was all England. Should have been 3 or 4.

But thats football. Credit to USA for hangin on.

As an English supporter it was great to see England play really well, but for the moment of the rookie keeper.

Hesky played fantastic and looks to be a real threat with 1 2's. A few mistakes, but for the most England strung good passes together. And created alot of chances.

Noone should just think USA is a bad side. They beat Brazil 2-0 and Italy 2-1 in this last year.

England were very unlucky to play that well, and get a draw.

Early days.

Thats the problem with England. Bringing their club performance to the national side.

Bar 1 mistake last night, ~England played very well. The passing was fluid. Everyone played high up. And we pressed well. USA really only had 2 good chances. The rest ( including the goal ) were hit and hope.

England had 8 clear cut chances from pure creativness.

Sometimes you need a bit of luck for the ball to bounce right or spin right. England played well. Yes they can play better. But I was impressed with the performance. Gives me a relaxed feeling about the team now. Obviously a win would ease the points nerves, but England have a very good foundation for the 2nd game.

Yeah, was on a flight last night so missed the game..

Just finished watching it.  No problems really, dodgy goalkeeping moment and rooney playing quite badly aside I thought we did ok.

Heskey and Gerrard were superb I thought.  we will qualify easily.

If the US had actually trued to play in the second half rathert than just sit back then we would have nicked as few goals.

Usual hysteria when we dont smash 3 or 4 goals from the press and people who only watch football once every 4 years....  we will be fine.  The US will bore their way through too.

Dont be to harsh on Rooney.

Everytime he got the ball USA fouled him to know end. The referee should have put a stop to it in the 2nd half by booking USA players for consistantly doing it to Rooney. That would have stopped them doing it. Giving Rooney the time and space he created for himself all night.

They need to stamp this out.

What were you watching? The USA are a team of journeymen and England resorted to lumping the ball up to Heskey/Crouch for the entire match. Why aren't you depressed by that? Other than assisting the goal Heskey created sweet fuck all. He gave the ball away as much as he won it, against very average defenders. All that's expected of him is the odd knock down and he just about did that acceptably, but missed an absolute sitter at 1-1.

I was very surprised England played that badly, they're an immensely talented team. Rooney didn't play badly, he got no service as your disfunctional Gerrard-Lampard midfield were unsurprisingly rubbish and were bypassed by the long ball. The USA tried to play more than England when they had the ball and actually attempted to string a couple of passes together but were let down by a general lack of talent.

The only thing you said that I do agree with is that you will qualify easily, and probably in first place

What team has shown their immense talent so far? Argentina looked alright but Nigeria had opportunities, France looked mediocre, Mexico stunk, etc, etc. The players haven't been together for long and will gradually improve.

Heskey was involved with basically everything in the USA's half, he just needs to be clinical and watch the offside. I'd rather have Crouch up there, he scores in internationals.

The USA aren't an average team either, they are in the top 15 in the World. If it wasn't for a howler and missed chances, England would have comfortably beat a top 15 team by around 3 goals to nil.

And for reference, England drew 0-0 with Uruguay in their first game in the year they won it.

Yea, though on the other hand, Rooney did very well in keeping his cool. Were not gona see any Rooney red cards this time round.
