best way to look at it is that at least we are winning games when we dont play great, under McLaren and Sven we tended not to do so.

Yeah, we have a lot of problems scoring.... our defense was "supposed" to be our strongest area, but corners, crosses and free kicks are a headache for us. The defense was not that bad considering they never played together though.

i don't think carrick and milner in the middle is the real england,but it was a friendly so time to try things out,

why gerrard wasn't in the middle over those two i'll never know,it does seem like we we've wasted gerrard like we wasted scholes,by playing them out of position,two very good players,

we were sitting so deep most of the time its amazing,i don't understand it,but i guess thats catanacho,don't get me wrong i'm glad we have capello,but carrick and milner barely got forward at home to a full house,it doesn't make sense,still we beat mexico without getting out of second gear,sure if they'd put away their chances,but thats what you have to is score and england do that pretty well,

Wait a second, is that Frank Lampard in defensive midfield? Can't imagine out of all the midfielders he would be wanting to be tracking back. Also i'm not sure about Joe Cole, he hasn't been in top form for ages it seems.

lampard,huddlestone gerrard all doing midfield work,covering,getting forward etc

joe cole is a class player,you don't lose that and you need it at this level,

Lots of pace down both wings perfect for Crouch in the middle. Would stretch teams with the width allowing for space for Stevie G and Lamps down the middle. Might prefer to have Milner and Gerrard or Huddlestone and Gerrard but undecided.
