Also SciFiBoy, if we have attacking full backs we need to have better centre backs and a brilliant defensive midfielder. Brazil show this off every week.

I a world cup in previous year,

Cafu and Roberto Carlos at full backs

Ze Roberto in holding midfield

Lucas and someone else good in centre back.

Then everyone else attacking players, it worked great for them, i just don't think we have enough going forward to do that. They had Ronaldinho Rivaldo Ronaldo etc etc etc
Im not sure Heskey is going to scare any defense. WHY ON EARTH IS HE SO WEAK? HE IS BUILT LIKE A MONSTER AND IS THE WEAKEST PLAYER ON THE PITCH!

ye agreed. But Heskey needs axing. He could be like Drogba, he has the pace the size and everything. Problem is this guy is more like a ballet dancer...

Well This doesn't surprise me one bit. England think they are on top of the world and already qualified so they think that teams will take them lightly. How long has this shit been going on? Over 8 years....

No worries though, England seem to get their act together when necessary... aka the world cup.

Portugal 3-0 Hungary
Argentina 2-1 Peru
( Palermo scored at 93 mn just after Renfigo scored for Peru on minute 90! )

The following European teams qualified today for WC 2010: Denmark, Germany, Italy, Serbia (Netherlands, England, Spain were already qualified before).

Almost directly qualified: Switzerland (only 1 point needed from last game).

Either Slowakia or Slovenia will be the 9th and last EURO team to directly qualify.

The following EURO teams are already qualified for relegation games to WC 2010:
Russia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, France, Ireland.

The following teams will most probably qualify for relegation games:
Ukraine, Portugal, Greece (and Slowakia or Slovenia)

- Sweden dropped the ball today and opened the door for Portugal to easily secure place 2 with their last game next Wednesday vs. Malta. We will see C. Ronaldo at WC unfortunately, but at least I can say that I'm happy for Portugal as a country.
- Turkey is out, which is the biggest negative surprise of the European qualification.
- Bosnia was by far the biggest positive surprise of the European qualifyings so far. Impressive team. I hope they win their relegation matches.
- Also: Denmark winning their group is quite unexpected (more unexpected than Switzerland).

Africa: Ivory Coast qualified today (Ghana and of course South Africa were already qualified).

South America: Chile qualfied today as 3rd team (Brasil and Paraguay were already qualified).
Final match for last direct qualifying place 4 will be next Wednesday in Montevideo: current 5th vs current 4th, URU vs. ARG.

Wohooo now we are in South Africa. Its gonna be fun to see how uruguay and argentina will fight for the last direct spot, specially when it is said that they help themselves when one is in danger, so now they are going to have to kill eachother.

4-2 in a very good match, el mago valdivia and suazo played great today.

Congratulations, pastro.
