Forums - Gaming - You were a console gamer from the late 80's till 1994, and then...

I'd stab everybody I saw with an icepick until the police shot me to death. So glad this wasn't my fate.

Looking at how Microsoft opened up Online Gaming, no I wouldn't be sad.

You mean Sega with the dreamcast. Hell, I played Bomberman and Quake on my Sega saturn online...its their fault that no one ended up buying it in masses like they did with xbox. They should still get the credit...

Regarding the OP - it would be very hard to adjust. I mean, 8/16 bit era was pure 100% gameplay. Today some games are 30% gameplay and 70% cinematics. The person that woke up in 2009 would probably spend a lot more time on VC, PSN and XBL buying games that playing MGS's, resident evils and gears of war's we get today and call AAA software.

No I mean Microsoft, I'm aware Dreamcast came up with it, I think without Microsoft though, Sony wouldn't be so hard pushed to make online. So where would we be?

you guys both mean Nintendo with the SNES.

nintendo had the first online adapter with the super.

1. It wasn't nintendo supported but 3rd party

2. So did the genesis

3. Neither had a network to connect to but isntead you woure just connecting randomly to people also searching for a match

Had you said sega genesis with Sega Channel, I may have accepted your answer :)

dang, i stand corrected again. i can never get anything right on this site

I would say: "yeah! Nintendo beat Sega!!, but what happened to the platformers??? " I would also be more impressed about the graphical capabilities of the HD consoles, more so than the motion controls, I would probably ask "how many bits is that PS3?"

"¿Por qué justo a mí tenía que tocarme ser yo?"

im glad to have grown up in 16 bit era. That way graphics arent a huge factor when i buy my games which is a good thing b/c it enables me to enjoy a wider variety of games out there

"Wait... Sonic sucks now?"

Ask stefl1504 for a sig, even if you don't need one.

I'd think Super Mario Galaxy looks as good as a real cartoon and I'd probably go berserk playing it. There are no words for how great it would be.

It would be like a sensory overload on EVERY console.

Well, I'd be shocked about how complicated the controllers looked and were used. Even Wii would have been daunting... Then again, I was eight in 1994. Figures.

Back then I wondered how in the world 3D would work, let alone how to control it. Seeing two analog sticks with a D-Pad and four buttons on just the face would have been overload to me.

Also, to those who don't remember things correctly: Graphics were important back then too! I mean, just look at some of the magazines back then; comparisons between Genesis games and SNES games were done very often. Of course, back then it was more about the colors and sprites, though.

The BuShA owns all!

I would demand to be frozen again until Sega was back; Then I would cry myself to death when I realized I would come to miss Valkyria Chronicles.

How do you breathe again?

Why are the prices of games so high
