Forums - Microsoft - Remedy:'Alan Wake is Xbox 360 exclusive' (PC version shelved indefinitely)

This is just like what happened with the original Halo. Except MS screwed over Mac people.

I don't think anybody is really missing anything with the PC version of Halo. Outside of playing in a lan (which I haven't done), the online gameplay is 'meh' with the delay. Having a delay for your actions can work in an online RTS (in my experience, Age of Empires 2), but not for an online FPS.

LOL.  I do not think you understood.  Halo was originally being created for Macs until MS stepped in.

lol yea, I did misunderstand.

I believe it came out in the summer of 2003 to the PC. Still, you wouldn't be missing out on anything except playing the game with a mouse and keyboard.

Give it a rest Shio seriously, no one cares what you have to say, go back to your super amazing best thing in the whole wide world pc gaming and leave us to our crumby console gaming.

Shio = The new MikeB for PC confirmed.....

Seriously. He's always been quite pushy with his agenda but lately he's gone over the top with it.

Well, it looks like MS may have taken forum fanboy wars to heart and provided their fanboys with more true blue console exclusives. LOL. PC/PS3 gamers should have kept their mouths shut.

lol! I've said it myself personally that I really haven't had much use for my 360 for this exact reason.

Although generally the "give more" rather than simply take away approach would be preferred naturally.

I'm sure they simply took a look at projected sales for PC platform, projected sales for 360 platform, factored in the piracy rate for a single player (play once) type of game on PC and decided it would make more sense to just market this title as a 360 exclusive, with the option to do a late Windows port in 6-12 months after the bulk of the console sales were done.

Assuming *all* PC fans don't go up in arms over a possible late port and scream "boycott!" this would actually result in the most sales for the game overall. And it may even result in an even more impressive DX 11 version of the title if Remedy is game.

PC gaming is so gimped these days. I'd say the best PC game that came from a console over the last few years was Devil May Cry 4. That game was really opitmized very well. If it weren't for Blizzard and The Sims PC sales wouldn't be the same over the last few years. So many pirates!

Bad news for the few legit buyers (prolly 30k or less?) of Alan Wake on the PC. But at least now the 360 owners have another solid exclusive.

It's just that simple.
