Forums - General - If your poor, good news. The rich are paying your healthcare.

Here is the bad news however.

If you work for a company that offers health insurance and do buy it, the government will take 2.5% of your income.

If your company does not offer it and you don't buy the government plan, they will take 2.5% of your income.

Now the big question comes when we are not collecting near enough money to cover the program... where are we going to get it?

Is it really too much to ask to have health insurance like any other insurance? Buy individual (or family) plans based on your needs without being tied down to an employer?

It's such a simple issue that has overcomplicated itself unnecessarily to the point of idiocy.

If you work for a company that's not incorporated then your health insurance is taxed as income. It's just leveling the playing field. Why should corporations have that kind of advantage over small businesses?

Viper1 is spot on.

And you think this is how other insurance's are run?

I don't think Bill Gates has to pay 20 million a year for car insurance he can't even use.

I thought the middle class had to pay too. Not just the rich.

That's my point.   Buy a plan based on needs.   Basic coverage, mid range or full coverage.

No more of this bloated government induced one size doesn't fit all employer tethered profit racket.

Imagine how many more people a company could employ if they didn't have to pay 85% of insurance premiums or if that savings were given back to the employees as higher wages.

2.5% only ? It would be a dream for me...

It is funny to see how US is a patriotic country (it is not sarcastic, I'm impressed by that).... but when you talk about money, it is every man for himself... nice mentality...
