Yes, the reactions show that people don't bother to read threads at all. This analyst is quoting Sony projects, and he's not even quoting them right. By Sony's own projections: Sony expects to have 14.6 million shipped total by end of Fiscal '08 (that's 5.5 million + 11 million - 1.9 million in case you're not familiar with Sony's proprietary math technology).

If you don't understand how people come up with 14.6 million, either go back and read the thread or go read Sony's own reports.

If price drop happens i think PS3 sales will blow up especially in Europe. 16.5milj. is still maybe too much but 13-14milj. is realistic.

Actually, GTA 4 isn't due out until after the fiscal year ends (calandar Q2). Also, Gran Tourismo 5 has a generic "TBA 2008" release date assigned to it as far as I know, so it is almost certainly not due out until next fiscal year. MGS4 and Killzone 2 are both reasonably likely to hit their release dates this fiscal year, it seems.

Further, people aren't reading anything here. Sony themselves are projecting 14.6 million shipped, not 16.5. Like this analyst failed to read Sony's reports, you aren't reading the thread you're commenting on.

 Tbh, I don't think KZ2 and GT5 will make out until Fall.  Even the KZ2 multiplayed beta is a good ways off.
