That certainly is a possibility, but after loosing so much money im sure they are aiming for profitability now

thethunder - or they can sell at a small lose and sell more games and more peripherals and more movies and make a profit while gaining marketshare... but hey, I like your way better.

it all just depends on how much it takes to manufacture a PS3 if its 300..they can do all sorts of price strategies, and get profit while doing it...if its cheaper i do expect slim to be priced slight higher( it take 300 to make slim is 315)...or they could sell at loss and have GO pick thd slack up.

well after the whole company (not just the gaming division) announced a lose for the second time in the Company's history I think they changed their priorities to make a profit rather than do what the Xbox 360 is doing which is cut the price every year to gain market share.

I say they cut at least 140 dollars per console on revision. the console cost 850 to make at launch and now it costs 400. they cut 450 dollars off it already and what have they done? Removed Ps2 BC which would have been less than 150 dollars. and shrunk the chips to what 65nm each from 90nm? 45nm chips, plus the new ordering process the whole of sony started, plus smaller power supply, not gloss finish (pending), smaller mobo, smaller fans, smaller heat sinks, smaller chasis, smaller packaging, less shipping costs, less storage costs.

how much profit does MS and Nintendo make off there systems???
