Oh great, that means it'll be a shit movie. I prefer when they get obscure actors. It worked great for the Spiderman franchise and Watchmen.

Yup, because Watchmen was such a great movie.

Is ryan reynolds even considered not obscure?  I mean seriously?

X-Men Origins was really his first movie that I consider a big hit. He stars in a lot of successful movies, but most people couldn't recognize him if you mentioned his name.

He's the guy from 2 guys a girl and a pizza place right?  Or is that some other similarly looking guy.

Man what they did to deadpool sucked in that movie... but it wasn't his fault.

He basically got turned into Baraka without a mouth.

Yea, that's him. He has been in a lot of things.

My favorite thing he has been in, is Scarlett Johansson (his wife).

I couldn't help but laugh at that.

 A+.

I'd have to agree I think too... haven't liked any movies he's in that i've seen.  His wife has made a few good ones.

While the casting is okay, I just don't see a Green Lantern movie working to be honest. I find it hard to see many DC movies working aside from Batman or Superman (but Returns was bad).

Hmm, pie.

The effects are really good today so they can do some amazing stuff. Lately all the Superhero moves have been really good. Hulk, Batman, and X-Men. So hopefully it will be good lol.

Special effects are not my concern, it's the heroes and idea's behind them that I think won't work. I mean Flash is more relateable then most but then when you start talking about how he has control of the Speed Force and can move faster then anything, you are going to start confusing people. Hulk, Batman and X-men can be explained easily, scientific accidents turn someone into a monster (no different to Dr Jekyle and Mr Hyde), rich kid makes suit (Batman and Ironman) and X-men is a twist on the evolutionary happening of a mutation and dealt with real world problems of racism. But Green Lantern? Some aliens form a galactic police force giving Hal Jordon power to create hard light energy of trememdous power?

Why get into all that?

All they need is Green Lantern to crash his plane during Desert Storm, or be writing a comic, or out camping or at a party or something...

cut to a "comet" crashing.  GL going to check it out, or a ring coming to him and pulling to it.

Cue alien "Protect earth...."

With a slight explination about how it creates "what he thinks through willpower".

Same with Flash.  Who needs the speedforce.  Hell the Speedforce wasn't even how the flash got his powers.  That was all a giant retcon anyway.  All you'd need for a flash movie is a chemicals accident suddenly he's all flash.

Leave the complicated backstories to movie 2.  After the crowd is hooked they'll be ready for the backstory.

It's why most stories, comics, tv shows and for that matter games start with a conflict.  There's a fight.  THEN you learn the backstory.
