Wii is at 3.66 million units in Japan and selling some 20K+ each week ....it wont have enough userbase to do it when Wii Fit arrives even providing it can sell a unit to nearly each Wii user out there.

This is one of those predictions I simply can not see comming true ...
I see Wii Fit as being very similar (in target audience) to Brain Training or Nintendogs; this means that it can become a title which can sell more than Halo 3 in its lifetime (and will sell more if I'm correct and Nintendo bundles it) but these sales are going to come from a "grass roots" campaign where the game sells at a constant rate for a very long time.
Basically, I could see Wii Fit selling at 80,000 units per week (worldwide) for years (or being bundled and selling 1 to 1 with the Wii for years) but I can't see it as having that large of a pent-up demand.

Someone bookmark this thread so we can all have a good laugh later this year.
We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that they [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take advantage of pretty much what the hardware can do, so the question is what do you do for the rest of the nine and half years? It's a learning process. - SCEI president Kaz Hirai
It's a virus where you buy it and you play it with your friends and they're like, "Oh my God that's so cool, I'm gonna go buy it." So you stop playing it after two months, but they buy it and they stop playing it after two months but they've showed it to someone else who then go out and buy it and so on. Everyone I know bought one and nobody turns it on. - Epic Games president Mike Capps
We have a real culture of thrift. The goal that I had in bringing a lot of the packaged goods folks into Activision about 10 years ago was to take all the fun out of making video games. - Activision CEO Bobby Kotick
Wii Fit is not a new IP leo-j, it is a part of the wii series. Ever heard of wii sports or wii play?
