Forums - General - In Egypt, swimming pool impregnates you

This sort of thing actually has happened in the past; there are medically-documented cases. However, people are correct that the chemicals in a swimming pool render this extremely improbable: the chemicals do not kill instantaneously, but they do their job quickly. Even without the chemicals, pools are generally too cold, too hot, or too acidic for things to survive for long.

Thus, odds are still that the girl is lying, or at the absolute least that she is playing the lawyer. It would take some very "intense" play for things to act quickly enough that something like this could possibly occur. That's not impossible, in which case her claims would be technically true but highly misleading. Either way, these things don't speak well of her honesty.

There is one final, darker possibility: it's possible that she was raped and is trying to hide it. That happens sometimes; Poland isn't really known for being especially hostile to rape victims, but even in the absence of cultural hostility some victims still try to hide what they see as the ultimate shame.

Complexity is not depth. Machismo is not maturity. Obsession is not dedication. Tedium is not challenge. Support gaming: support the Wii.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.
