Forums - PC - Hey Windows 7 beta users... some advice please

So I just preordered the Win7 upgrade, but I have a small question.

On Windows XP I have a program called Sound Shuffler that will rotate through your event sounds and desktop wallpaper at any time interval you set.  Vista does not play nicely with this program, so I doubt it will work in Win7.  Now, I know that Win7 includes the Desktop Slideshow feature, so that part is taken care of, but what about the sounds?

There is also a program for XP called "Random Event Sounds".  Do any of you beta users know if Win7 can use Sound Shuffler or Random Event Sounds?

Thanks!

i will check this out tomorrow and post it, right now i have to go to sleep

Those sound like very odd programs.

Actually, they are pretty fun, though absolutely non-critical. It cuts down on monotony. Plus, haven't you ever thought to yourself, "gee, this startup sound is good, but I sure wish I could also have these other ones too without having to change them manually all the time."?

it seams to be working fine on 7264 x64, this is a past rc build and is in the rtm branch

Hey, thanks for checking. Is that Sound Shuffler or Random Event Sounds that you have working? Also, are you having to run it in an XP virtual machine or can it run natively in Win7?

Thanks a ton!

i did the random event sounds, it seemed to be working, there was no crashes or hiccups. Also it native to windows 7, if it doesnt work for you for some reason, you can indeed run it under xp mode or even some other virtual devices as many of those have better features.

Hey, thanks!

I've been out of town, and I wanted to thank you for your help.
