how did it mess the graphics up???

are you sure you didnt accidentally switch your TV settings???......i mean that doesn't sound possible

Ya it's hard to believe the firmware did that to your PS3 it must be something else, but if it is then just wait till the next firmware update and it might fix it

My xbox360 looks fine and everything on my tv is perfect and I also tried every possible setting on my ps3 also, when I called tech support the lady told me there was a patch in firmware 2.76 supposed to ameliorate the ingame graphics, I think the installation went wrong some how

No the games are still playable but in team fortress for instance the color sheme is darker and when I'm looking at a distance object or person it's hard to know if it's friendly or ennemy, I got burn a lot by enny pyros because I couldn't tell if they where red or blue, I have change my tv setting to extra bright so it's a bit better now but there's still that wierd glitch of corners going complety dark If am like 3 or 4 meters away
