@PS3Beats360.
You are absolutely and positively smoking crack. There's a difference between blind fanboy and supporter of a brand, please recognize the difference.
Microsoft and Nintendo know how to attract gamers to their products this generation. They will do it the rest of this year, all of next year, and pretty much up until the time when they are ready to release a new system. As it stands, so far this summer we haven't seen a single week of PS3 edging the 360, and this is at a time when Microsoft's products naturally start to decline.
PS3 slim is not going to do /a damn thing/ to PS3 sales. I'm sorry if you think that the only reason why millions of gamers have not picked the system up yet, but it probably lacks dead last next to "I think Bill Gates is awesome". The truth of the matter is that no game in Sony's arsenal really entices people in the USA as much as Halo and Gears of War do. I hate to reduce strong North American sales to those two games, but its very symbolic for how we feel about video games. I am currently discounting Japan because the country seems to be in a portable/Wii trend right now, and now that FF13 is multi-platform, it levels the playing field next year when that is released.
Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, Ratchet and Clank, and Grand Tourismo 5 are all niche games. None of them, as much as people hate to hear this, are system sellers. Ask a mother/father down the street if they are more likely to buy a PS3 if Heavy Rain comes out.
Their response?
"Why would it matter if it rained as to whether or not I buy the system. You are wierd, please leave".
The fanboys are all tapped out. Now you need to rely on attracting the casual gamers, the moms and pops of the world, the kid that probably makes 200 bucks a month mowing lawns/getting an allowance. Each system needs to prove to new arrivals why theirs is the best. And a skinny 300 dollar PS3 is still cheaper than Xbox 360 Arcade. Hard Drive or not, that's not the bottom line.
