| hellonearth said: and how exactly do you "prove" that it's impossibile? Because you assume the systems will continue to sell at the same rate they are currently selling? Because you neglect that there will be huge boosts in Ps3 sales when FFXIII comes out in Japan this winter...when God of War III comes out in March...when GT5 comes out...when there is a price cut...etc. Seriously. I didn't read through the entire thread and do not intend to. Did you factor any of that into your claims? |
Nothing is impossible but its improbable enough to make people consider you to be wacky when you bring it up as if its likely. The math is all over this thread, no point in repeating.
A large boost is in the order of 100k or 200k or even 300k consoles sold for the really really large boosts. Next to that 9M its nothing. So even if GT5/FFXIII boost sales by half a million combined it still leaves a gap of 8.5M to overcome and they are the final pieces of software which could boost sales.
God Of War 3 will do very little for sales, if MGS4 didn't do that much and it was a series which was both bigger and popular in Japan.
I think you're not factoring anything into your claims, go check past precedent. The data for the MGS4 release is available and that was with a $100 cut in America, BC 80GB available temporarily and the biggest hardware spike in Japan to date for the PS3.
Tease.
