Topic more or less says it. I can't stand Ichigo, the embodiment of the anime meathead, and any attempt at bestowing some sort of character or depth on him just falls flat. It's kinda like the story just happens around him, and he really has no impact on it, other than as the character who resolves the fighting.

I still love the series, because the fights are awesome, and most of the other characters are quite charming (Uryu, Rukia, Renji, Urahara & co., Zaraki, just to name a few)

Anyone else feel the same?

im only on episode 41, so i cant say if my opinion will remain the same, but so far i dont mind his characther, also i like the show so far, season 3 is out on dvd boxset here soon, so ill let you know what i think of that if you like.

Ichigo is alright his character is kind of bland how ever he makes it up with his fights in the series

I think Naruto (as a character) truly has matured, especially in the lastest Chapters of the manga. That in effect has made him one of my favortie characters.

On topic:

I can't really say he is bland as a character, he just going through the phase as being the typical "shonen hero". But underneath I think there is alot of ground to cover. Such as the death of his mother and how it changed his outlook on live. His situation as a shinigami screwing over the law to save his friends, his thirst for power to fight the opposition to protect his friends.

All this isn't original, but I think it well done in Ichigo's case as a character.

This will convince anyone to watch Bleach.

I really like Mayuri Kurotsuchi, that crazy-looking guy in charge of the R&D department. We don't see enough of him

for the life of me....I cant get into both Naruto or Bleach, i feel like these are like...coat tail riders
