I agree that weather is quite important, but it's funny that Sony fanboys always regarded GT as the ultimate racing game even if it didn't have such an incredibly important feauture as car damage.

Car damage >>> weather change.

I hate bumper car racing in GT, it's meaningless to play without damage.

Have you seen the trailer for GT5?

can you play this game?

either way night racing and weather effects can be added as a dlc just like in Burnout Paradise it's not that difficult. of course we can't say that bout Polyphony Digital, but Turn 10 shouldn't have any problem if they will want to do this so stop whinning sony fanboys.

and yes Gran Turismo series is best racing sim if you exclude pretty much every pc racing sim released since 1998(or whenever Grand Prix Legends was released), Forza series and Race Pro.

@selnor

you do know companies pay polyphony to be in a gran turismo game.. honestly you really dont know what and how big GT is.. did you start gaming with the XBOX?

Come on man. I started gaming on Commodore 64. I own every GT game apart from GT5P. GT was always the best. It was the only game of it's type. To be honest Forza 2 is the closest thing on consoles so far. It's options and actual tuning is along way ahead of GT5P for instance. Forza 2 was about racing and tuning and actually gaining yourself 2 tenths per lap. GT has never been like that. It's more casual. It just is. It's not as in depth as Forza games. And GT fans making statements like the one made to me earlier is proof of it. Forza 3 has input from Mclaren F1 simulator. Rates as the best simulator in the world. Only 3 people a year drive. Now they had access to that, that makes Forza 3 ^ in terms of realism already. Sim Racing website already said it's the first time ever that a console sim feels like a PC racing sim. It's that good.

GT5 has to mix it up with the likes of LFS on PC or GTR2 in the sim part to get anywhere close to Forza 3 as a driving sim. This is my point. No amount of weather, supposedly more cars is gonna change this fact.

Whoa, Selnor, GT not being about gaining a tenth of second, being casual? Sure, if you play it with all the driving aids and have a car with more BHP and less weight than the competition.

Do me a favour, and play the game without TCS, ASM, minimal LSD and AYC off, go to Le-Mans 24 H, taking with you a Toyota Minolta-C 88 which will have the same amount of BHP as the cars racing in that endurance, but with at least more 70-100 kgs, Using Racing Super-Hard Composite tires.

You'll be sweating to gain even a few hundred of a second per lap, just to be able to leave in front of the competition in every pit-stop that you make, since the A.I is superb at mantaining a lower degree of fuel consumption and tire wear than you, pitting only one/two laps after you have pitted.

Can i borrow your time machine? You've obviously played both games alot. Or are you just butthurt by the fact that the ''definitive'' racer this gen lacks weather?

No the fact that an actual Racing website SimRacing said GT5 P was not as realistic as Forza 2 says enough.

That's cool and  I agree. Forza 2 is a full game, GT5p is not even a demo.

Still, it's impossible for you to know that forza 3 is going to be a better sim than gt5.

So that's how the "True Console Racing Sim" of "Amazing Graphics" turned out to be? Epic phail, if you ask me. Guess Fable II is still the only game I want on a X360.

I agree that we need to play both new games. But I use facts we already know to make some early prediction.

Forza 1 2005 vs GT4 2005. Forza 1 was more realistic, and scored higher.

GT4P and GT4 are almost identical in handling and graphics. Just loads more content than the Prologue.

So I can assume the same with GT5P and GT5. We already know that Forza 3 has improved greatly on Forza in the driving department. Media tells us so.

Well Carl if it had numerious delays like some OTHER racing game,then they could include that but you know MS isnt DEPENDING on this game to Win this generation.

sony isnt depending on gt5 to win this generation, gt5 is one of thier biggest games and everyones looking forward to it.

and i dont belive game has been delayed at all, take in consideration of polyphony having to get out a prologue and on top of that developing a full on gt psp game. so the dev cycle for gt5 is spot on.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

@Selnor:
"GT4P and GT4 are almost identical in handling and graphics. Just loads more content than the Prologue."
that could be true, I never played GT4:P
However, what was the time between the release of GT4P and GT4?
I would think PD has had more time this time around (if we discount the time taken for GT PSP that is) so it would be interesting to see if they can make good use of it.

Of course, GT5 is still vaporware for me.

Damn...going off topic again
