since every1 is complaing about the super high price why not do it like a cell phone. payy 100 bucks then pay a monthly fee for  2years. or 3 or 1. makes sense to me, when i asked some1 else they just laughed lol

Because some people like paying it off in one go. Although paying for a console over a longer period of time seems to work for Microsoft so maybe it would be a good idea.

OT:  That would basically be like leasing a console which would not be good.  You couldn't sell it if you decided you didn't want it because you are stuck in a payment agreement.  You would HAVE to register some credit card or some personal information just to buy it which many people don't like to do.

It's a good idea in theory, but bad in practice for things other than cell phones and TV/Internet services.
