Forums - Gaming - Gamepro plaigarizes IGN's review

He has it well deserved.

I'm a writer and I am glad he got fired.  Sure, it sucks for the man, but you just don't do that kind of thing.  The punishment fits the crime.

I can't bring myself to comprehend why he would even copy lines word for word even if he was using the IGN review as a reference (why do you need to use someone else's review as reference for a game you're reviewing based on your own experiences in the first place?) It's so blatant, I don't know how or why he thought he'd get away with it.

Wow!

he got fired over one line. I hope they can sleep soundly at night

I would if i were them.  It's called professional standards, every industry has them and in journalism this is pretty much the central ethos of journalistic integrity. It would be like a doctor blabbing in public about his patient's medical conditions, you just can't do it.

I just find it insane he was too lazy to review a Wiiware game. A Wiiware game! He didnt have to go to in-depth or crazy with it. If you cant review a downloadable game then what the hell are you doing reviewing games period.

Wait, the line in question is the bolded line?

People are calling that plagiarism?

There's only so many ways you can get the point across that in skirmish you can play against up to seven bots and two players can go at it split screen or you can play eight player via WiFi connection.

Jesus people, that isn't plagiarism, it's the internet being stupid.

He admitted to plagiarizing......

Well then I'm an ass.

Still, that's a stupid line to make a big deal over.  As I said, it's just direct information that he probably copied just to save some time because it's just direct information and not actual writing.

Twestern changed his avy!!!!?????.......,,WTF IS GOIN ON ???...JULY HAS BEEN CRAZY
