Wasn't sure which PS3 40 gb thread to post this in so I just picked the one nearest the top. Anyway, those friendly Italians have given the details of the EU pricing EUR 399 (£277). It will also come bundled with two games for EUR 499.

No chrome strip - Boo hoo, it's all black, totally black, like the pits of hell itself! except for the 'Playstation 3' logo. that's a deal breaker for me, that chrome strip meant everything! ARGH! how am i supposed to play Resistance without a CHROME STRIP?!

No memory card reader - oh dear, i won't be able to put my SD card in the machine... how will i ever be able to look at pictures on my HD TV?! oh, i suppose i could Wi-fi network it with my PC and look at all the pics and videos that i have on my PC... evil sony, making me link up my PS3 with a Microsoft operating system. not like i can just CONNECT MY CAMERA TO THE PS3 using the USB cable!

Smaller 40 GB hard drive - damn, all that PORN i was going to save to my PS3. what is this supposed to be? a gaming machine?! i want a home entertainment hub, not a gaming machine!

(seriously, i've had a 60 Gb PS3 since release date in UK and only used up less than 15Gb, and thats with all the movies i've saved on there. i guess i'll have to DELETE SOME)

2 USB ports instead of 4 - Ooh, i love charging all 4 of my remotes at the same time! really turns me on! ooh yeah baby! and how will i connect my PSP when i'm charging all my remotes! Evil Sony, they should DIE! run out of batteries, curl up and DIE!

No ethernet cable included in the box - they've screwed me on this once again! not like i can just pop down the shop and BUY ONE for about £2! damn, do they hate us or something? oh... whats this Wi-Fi thing? does that mean i can connect it to my home network WITHOUT WIRES?! and get on the internet and join PSN for FREE? i'm going to firebomb their office.

No PS2 backwards compatibilty - Ok, the last straw! Sony are going to get it! i won't be able to play PS2 or PS1 games on it? after shelling out how much for a PS3? god, i buy a next gen console to play last gen games and Sony screw me over! damn, now i'm gong to buy a 360 so i can play Xbox games. what? 360 not backwards compatable? and you say i could buy a PS2 for £99? or download PS1 games from PSNetwork? or just keep the PS2 i have? that's just crazy!

well, i think we can all agree, Sony have royally screwed over all them loyal fans who just want to play next gen games on a next gen system, use wi-fi to download stuff and play online for free.

anyone want to join me for a violent protest outside the Sony UK head office in London. i'll bring the cocktails if you bring the bats.
