Forums - Microsoft - 360 Falcon RRoD?

http://n4g.com/xbox360/NewsCom-71365.aspx#Comments

This has caught me be surprise as I thought the change to 65nm chips would actually eliminated the RRoD problem. Unless the addition of 65nm GPU work then the only thing left is for MS to redesign the entire system, most likely getting rid of the X-clamps and providing more air space within the system.

I think I see the red rings in my sleep sometimes just from seeing that picture so much. Slops to MS by the way if this console actually had the 65nm chip in it. This shit is just ridiculous. You shouldn't have to worry about your console frying unless you are really doing some crazy shit with it.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Happened to a friend of mine while I was playing him in Halo 3 on Live. He stopped moving, my phone rang, then he disconnected and told me that his brand new 360 died and there was nothing but a red light in a circle on the front.

Didn't even last him a week.

My pokemon brings all the nerds to the yard. And they're like, "You wanna trade cards?" Damn right, I wanna trade cards. I'll trade this, but not my charizard.

Saw the pics a couple days ago, it really sucks for the 360 fans.

You can bet that Sony and Ninty are having a chuckle from this

1. If your friend saw a full ring, the plug was just loose or something simple like that.
2. Are all new 360's the 65nm ones? I was under the impression they still all weren't.
3. Everything from the Wii to Ps3 to even the fabled 65nm 360's can break.

@Dallas

ohhhhhh, I'm falling of my chair laughing

ROFL!!

Wow. If the LE 360's do really have the falcon in them, I will not be buying a 360 for the foreseeable future. It just goes to show you that the main priority the designers had in mind was to save money, rather than make reliable but not overly expensive piece of hardware.

Nice move MS. Going for the quick buck in the short run will always be the best way to go!

That's not RRoD. That's a different type of failure, usually involving the power source (plug, connection, etc). Three lights are RRoD, not four (a full ring).

I love how 360 users are able to instantly classify the multiple types of system failures the 360 has.
