yes, i have. I have tried a couple of the store ones. It also takes close to thirty seconds for the disc holder to open.

Man that sucks. I still have a fat one and im planning on getting a slim version before Sony stops manufacturing them.

Well, that's going to be awhile. Sony only stopped making the Playstation 1 in 2006.

My first one lasted about 5 years when the main gear just stripped itself one day. My second one is about 4 years old and has been acting odd lately. As sad as I'll be to see it die, it will give me some incentive to get a PS3--hopefully with a price cut.

Yeah, the PS1 was part of their 10 year plan just like the PS2 is now. THe PS2 cycle should end in 2010 if i am correct, ill get another one sooner or later.

I got mine in 5th grade.. and I just graduated so its been over 7 years for mine as well. It is still running strong too! It gets plenty of usage playing DVDs and the occasional game.
