I would make that bet if God of War II sold more, but according to this site it only sold 2.47M and I am predicting 2.6M for GoWIII

it is true though, i dont have the source on hand either but i believe the tracker for the pirate bay at one time logged 700,000 downloads for GOW COO first day, and overall around 5 million.

 

Crisis core had about 2million downloads as well. and that`s just one site.

I`ve never met anyone other than myself who bought any ps2 games.

 

GOW pirated at LEAST 1million times, more than likely 2, and gow 2 is probably around 2-3million pirated. remember, these games have no net code and have nothing to offer in terms of online.

And I never met anybody that pirated PS2 games.......so that leaves 2 pieces of anictodal evidence on the table that mean nothing.

If you are going to spout off a bunch of bull shit numbers at least have the decency to know you are trying to blow smoke up my ass.

I just checked a random torrent site. at this VERY MOMENT in time there are 300 people downloading god of war 2.

 

For god of war COO I`ll get the statistics for just a few of the torrents up for it.

 

#1 Downloads: 108,786

#2 Downloads: 44,089

#3 Downloads: 124,625

#4 Downloads: 19,199

#5 Downloads: 49,776

#6 Downloads: 11,963

#7 Downloads: 6,875

#8 Downloads: 18,245

#9 Downloads: 17,306

#10 Downloads: 15,690

# 11 Downloads: 10,023

...

and many more. ON ONE tracker site. JUST ONE SITE. there are hundreds, Usenet as well. It's safe to say at least half the people that played this game pirated it.

 

its hard to get GOW2 or GOW numbers since they're very old, but i suspect they're larger than GOW COO.

Final Fantasy Crisis core..

Downloads: 184,169

just one torrent, there are thousands.

 

I'd say about 90% of psp owners in the WW have it hacked.

And the last time I checked, those regions have had a significant impact on world wide sales. 

 

Taking MGS4 for example, roughly a 50/50 split of sales between Americas and Others.  Comparing that to MGS3 for the PS2, I see sales in favour of Others (Japan is roughly equal between the 2).  So looking at this data, am I to assume that the decrease in piracy as negatively affected sales of PS3 games in the Other's region?

EDIT:  There are several other games I'm sure I could go through and get all sorts of data, but I'm sure you will use piracy as an excuse anyways.  And looking at current data, RE5 has sold less than RE4, how is that possible with supposidly less piracy?
