Sony won't harm Nintendo even if its wettest dreams come true. At the same time it's horribly pissing Ballmer-boyz off. Again. May I laugh?
Leo-j, you are probably the biggest hypocrite on this website.
I don't think anybody needs your "life" teachings..
You say you hate lots of things yet you go and do them yourself in another thread.

Oh and my friend that does lot's of hauling of stuff will assuredly dump his pickup for a Doleran(snicker) in the near future. WTH? does the Sony guy think he is saying? People don't buy products on power or feature rich. They buy it on feature value. Video game machines are no different. He's making an assumption that his sports car is something everyone wants and it's only price that get's in the way. That's pretty much the view of a failing company. Instead he should be thinking "does are product meat the value desires of the customers and if not how can we?" but never once has Sony ever thought about it like that. They have just assumed it's Sony PS it's wanted. Also if someone doesn't need a top of the line pickup is he going to buy a top of the line pick up 30k when a 18k will work just as well? short answer No. Long answer Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. |
You make a great comparison. Like a car, it is only used to get from Point A to Point B, and the same can be said about video games having the same function is that you buy a system just to play games and have fun on them.

You completely buried this thread.
People do eventually 'upgrade' but what they feel is the most powerful console is purely subjective. This is why sony is failing this gen, they are high on some new drug because they are delusional all the fucking time!!
What people really do is go to the console they favor for various reasons and the most important of those reasons is the console they feel is most valuable. Most powerful is something only people like us look at. Btw, the ps3 is hardly more powerful than the 360.
However, all this fails in comparison to the the apparent belief sony has that the N64 and PS2 disparity is equal to the 360, ps3 disparity...wtf!!?? It's hard to even prove a disparity exists between the two HD consoles.
Last;y, the people they speak about aren't upgrading in the sense that sony is thinking. These people only care about adequate gaming at the right price. The newest consoles lowering their prices near or at the price that these late adopters bought their old gen consoles is really like launching the current systems for them. Before reaching the adequate price the current consoles aren't even an option for these people. To them they might as well not exist...until they hit their magic number.
Late adopters choose the console they feel has the best combination of quality and price not 'power'.

Is that a good or bad thing.
