Forums - Microsoft - 360 games that don't get the credit for graphics you think they deserve.

I'd say Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts. The game is just beautiful

I just finished Kameo and for a first gen 360 game the graphics are really good

EMULATION is the past.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Mass Effect looks stunning. Gears of war 2 was a nice improvement in graphics. Halo 3 was ok-good looking. Braid's artistic design was beautiful.

The 360 has a lot of good looking games.

Not 360 exclusive, but Resident Evil 5, really it's cutscenes are something else:

PGR4 as already mentioned:

And Dirt 2:

Heys guys the thread wasn't aimed at anyhting against PS3 games. Just general 360 games. When people use graphics games for 360, they normally use Gears 2 etc. Personally PGR4 is THE most realistic graphics Ive seen for the 360. Look at that first PGR4 video. IMO there is no other game that looks that real on the 360 at all. It's insane. Posting replays of games is all fine, but no other racer comes near that currently out for gameplay graphics.

The first video looks near enough identicle to real life because its the lighting is dim and the video is about 320x240 resolution so you can't pick out any real detail. Play it at 1080p on a 42 inch TV and it won't look so real.

Pgr4 is a very nice looking game but the interiors were much better in PGR3 and more dynamic. 90% of the cars and bikes speedmeters and dials don't even move or move incorrectly unlike PGR3 which was 100% perfect... They should of scrapped bikes all together and continued to focus on cars.

I might put on PGR4 right now and get some of the remainding achievements. I was at 1080G last time I checked. Can't wait for Forza 3!

Oh yeah and I was amazed when I first played Kameo back in 2005. Near the beginning of the game you had to run down a hill on a horse and there was 100's of real fully animated and A.I controlled Trolls. I have found a video of it and ill show it you all now.

Never played PGR4 as I no longer have a 360. I owned all the previous games though, and PGR3 was a great-looking game, especially for a launch title.. 4 looks even better.

A 360 exclusive that I think looks amazing in Crackdown.

Consider the time of release (early 2007) and consider that the engine never EVEr has any slowdown. And then consider the scale of the game...

That is one amazing game engine people. To bad GTA4 couldn't use that engine...

Apparently it was Renderware, which was used for III, VC, and SA. Engines don't make better games. They just help with costs and development time.

I think that some game engines hinder the gaming experience and some do make it better. When game devevelopment starts the designers have to understand the scope of the game, console they are developing for and the engine being used and the final product has to cover all bases. (look good, maintain solid frame rate, offer extras like split screen...etc)

For example, bungie gets a lot of slack for the way Halo 3 looks...however one must understand that the engine used is probably pushing the very limits of 360 when the game is firing on all cylinders. (4 player coop split screen with massive battles against covenant involving several vehicles in huge areas)

Crackdown to me is an example of a game which got everything right. Looks great, smooth frame rate, coop online... if it had split screen, that game would be quite amazing.

Still my point was about GTA IV and Crackdown and their engines. The CD developer was using the engine used for three of the GTA games, and they still got them to run better, so it was likely the skill of the developer here.

Ah I see...I missed that point cause I didnt clue in what III, VC and SA stood for. My bad...

@RAZ
youtube dude, youtube.
Your post is huge, too huge even.

a agree with everyone here. But personaly i liked Gears of War back in 2006. That was the first game that made everyones jaw drop from the awesome visuals. That was the first taste people had of what these consoles could do and by far was the biggest leap forward this gen.

Long Live SHIO!

@ Keifer23

That video is small your right. But I have the game on. My TV is 42 inch and it looks better than that video. The crazy thing is, PGR4 has the closet colour set and lighting set to reality Ive seen.

I will point out though, that it looks better with rain or snow than a sunny day. Sunny day still looks amazing but when weather effects are there they have nailed everything to do with weather. That video actually doesn't do it justice. It looks clearer and more real on my HDTV.
