Forums - Nintendo - New Wiimote bundle

Not sure if this is Australia only, but I think its a great deal and will be picking it up on November 8th for sure. From what I can see, the only reason why some reviews gave it average scores was because it was a budget title at full price. In Australia $79.95 is a 2nd tier game price (like Warioware, Resident Evil 4) and to get a Wii remote with it too is fantastic news. Wii Play got me my 2nd remote, now this will get me my 3rd with an extra game in tow. In addition to the free Wii remote jackets that Nintendo are sending my way, I feel like they really look after us owners.

Starting November 8, Big Brain Academy for the Nintendo Wii console will be bundled with a bonus Wii remote for only $79.95.

If purchased seperately, users would have to pay $69.95 for the Wii remote and another $69.95 for the Big Brain Academy (stand alone game). However, purchasing this bundle will save users $59.95.

Big Brain Academy have activities that are designed around the Wii remote's pointer. Players can play solo with one Wii remote, take on a friend with another remote, or pass remotes around like a relay baton in group competitions.

The Big Brain Academy bundle will be available for a limited time only.

It's a perfect strategy.

Make an irresistible bundle so that Brain Training Wii sells millions and then claim that the Wii sells to casual players and convince third parties to produce more shovelware.

I call em' as I see em'.

Why not, great strategy, cos' in between the shovelware will be some great games. PS2 had all the shovelware last gen + most of the best games, bring it on for the Wii.

I like the bundle idea, it really is a herald back to the NES days when alot of games got bundled in with accessories.
If you this about it, the fact that Nintendo is modeling its business after the better ideas of the NES era. It worked back then to bring video games out of the darkages, I wouldn't expect it to work any less now when video games are becoming more mainstream.

The point is that they had a solid business model back then that grew the market and they are reviving it to grow the market once more.

Great idea, Nintendo knows that in order to sell casual games you just add in a new peripheral or remote and it's sure to be a hit.
Hopefully Nintendo knows what they're doing and does this in other regions, as it would be a graet way to boost that BBA software.

As I wrote on another post - I see Nintendo some time next year bundling Wii with Wii sports, BBA, Play, 2 Wiimotes, Zelda Crossbow training and a Zapper once sales finally do settle down.

Those people that think they're perfect give a bad reputation to us who are...

"With the DS, it's fair to say that Nintendo stepped out of the technical race and went for a feature differentiation with the touch screen, but I fear that it won't have a lasting impact beyond that of a gimmick - so the long-lasting appeal of the platform is at peril as a direct result of that." - Phil Harrison, Sony
