They say that star craft is still packing a pretty healthy fan base online, that it is still an excellent game to play and that star craft 2 is going to have to really push new terriotory to better the original. My question to you readers is though, do you guys actually want a revamped graphics version of star craft that may let down hopes and have balancing issues? Is Blizzard making this game in vain?

I personally like the original and think that Blizzard should not make a sequel and instead move on to diiferent projects, however I am interested in what you guys think about this upcoming sequel

What? That's madness if ever I've heard it.

People are picking the wrong game to downplay. It will be awesome, and I can't wait to kick the Dominion's ass with Raynor.

Didn't Mengsk get captured (and eventually escaped) and the Dominion wiped out in the middle of UED campaign in Brood Wars?

And if the story is anything like BW, Kerrigan will anal rape everyone else in the SC universe 24/7.

Methinks you have to play the whole game. The Dominion took a huge hit when Kerrigan betrayed them, but Arcturus Mengsk is rebuilding his empire. It's all pretty pointless, since no one can stand up to the Zerg anyways, but whatever...

The Dominion was brought down by Raynor and friends. It was the UED that got "betrayed" by Kerrigan.

Ehh, there were some pretty random alliances in Brood War. As I remember, Mengsk worked with Kerrigan and some others to take down the UED. Of course, I'm basing most of this off of the premise of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty and reading the plot of Brood War.

The Dominion was already brought to ashes by then, by Raynor and other rebels, and ultimately by the UED. Mengsk joined Kerrigan on the promise of rebuilding the Dominion after the UED was taken care of.

I still think it was pretty far-fetched that a bunch of people trusted Kerrigan. She had reason to hate all of them, and she was obviously trying to take control of the Zerg. Just how gullible was everyone?

She said that whatever she did during Starcraft was because she was under the control of the overmind and couldn't stray from his will like all Zerg. It was a believable excuse and the people who allied with her were pretty desperate for some help.

I'm pretty sure one of the conversation pieces before a mission went through the same line of thinking, they didn't trust her, they were desperate as far as I can remember.

Edit: Damn you Truck.

Aldaris was the only one who didn't fall for it... By far my favorite character in Starcraft...

Does anybody remember this atrocity?

I remember it's existance but I've never played it. I can't imagine the controls being any good with the N64 controller.

Aldaris is pretty cool but Kerrigan was my favorite character, I loved her story going from a simple ghost operative to super bitch (also I always love to side with the vilains). On the heroes side, I thought Tassadar was great.
