Didn't Mengsk get captured (and eventually escaped) and the Dominion wiped out in the middle of UED campaign in Brood Wars?
And if the story is anything like BW, Kerrigan will anal rape everyone else in the SC universe 24/7.

Methinks you have to play the whole game. The Dominion took a huge hit when Kerrigan betrayed them, but Arcturus Mengsk is rebuilding his empire. It's all pretty pointless, since no one can stand up to the Zerg anyways, but whatever...

The Dominion was brought down by Raynor and friends. It was the UED that got "betrayed" by Kerrigan.

Ehh, there were some pretty random alliances in Brood War. As I remember, Mengsk worked with Kerrigan and some others to take down the UED. Of course, I'm basing most of this off of the premise of Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty and reading the plot of Brood War.

The Dominion was already brought to ashes by then, by Raynor and other rebels, and ultimately by the UED. Mengsk joined Kerrigan on the promise of rebuilding the Dominion after the UED was taken care of.
