"- Alan Wake was planned to be sandbox game where player can roam freely, but Remedy did notice that it's quite impossible to combine free world and intense story."

I love sandbox games so I'm disappointed to hear this. But it's probably the right decision for this type of game.

That is such bullshit, just check Fallout 1 & 2, Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment, Deus Ex (great exploration for a game with diminished free roaming), Beyond Good & Evil, Crysis (the potential was there, but the story itself wasn't on par with the brilliant atmosphere), etc...

Video Game development is still in baby's shoes in Finland, I'm really interested to see will this game fare even better than max payne which was suprisingly good.

No sandbox game huh. Not a horror game, huh.

Thats nice Remedy. F*** you.

Max Payne 1 isn't a horror game or sandbox game but it's perfect (well, was perfect in 2001). I think that Remedy can make an excelent dramatic/thriller game without the horror/sandbox thing. When you play Max Payne you feel so bad because of the story and the form that the game tell you the story, Remedy is completly brillant in these kind of games and really knows how to play with your psychological. This game definitely doesn't need the sandbox/horror style to be perfect, Alan Wake is on good hands.

Errm, sorry for the bad english.

I never had any expectations of this being a sandbox game...why would I want that? This is an interactive movie, imho, and sandbox doesn't work for that format. It's interesting to see that this game will be an xbox exclusive at launch.

This game is an exclusive and always will be because Microsoft is publishing the game and has an agreement about the first game but Microsoft doesn't owns the IP (the name "Alan Wake"), Remedy can make a sequel and put it on PS3. This game will not be ported.

Why do you keep saying that like you know it for a fact...I mean I don't know if they Won't be able to take it to the PS3...But I doubt this is the same type of Deal that Ninja Gaiden 2 had...

And From what I read Remedy says they will be able to make Alan Wake stuff outside of Games without needing MS....They did not say anything else..If anything this practically confirms how tight of a Grip MS has over Games based in Alan Wake Universe....

- Maybe most shocking news was that PC version of Alan Wake isn't any more obvious truth. Last time Remedy did demo PC version of Alan Wake was back 2005 and latest demos and videos are from Xbox 360 version of game.

That's for the people who said it looked great, but Xbox360 version will look worse. That was October 2008.

And a story-driven game is great. I really want to be in this story. The story is the main motivation to finish games.

I noticed that too. It looks like nobody else cares though, just us.

I noticed it. I remeber having arguements to loads of other fanboys that the October 2008 trailer was running on 360. I even had screenshots in my sig. They all laughed at me and thought I was being a typical fanboy. Now who has egg on their face. Remedy have confirmed that these following pics from October 2008 is officially running on an Xbox 360. Like I said Alan Wake is up there for best console graphics ever.

WHAT THE HELL SELNOR!

I already told you about posting Real time Pics of Xbox 360 Exclusives..Just Stop it!

It's not like your gonna convince anyone that Xbox 360 is PHAT!

Whoa. O_O

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

In Pelaajalehti was description about same 20 minute long demo what was showed behind closed door in E3. They mentioned that right after action scene, what was showed to public, Alan Wake takes a car and drives to light house. There is some amount of roads and town area, but forest is the biggest element in Bright Falls (So don't wait any GTA4 Liberty City scale of area).

They also mentioned that during demo there wasn't much different choices how to do it, but that should vary between missions. Game still includes some exploration, so I think (hope) that during missions you can explore Bright Falls area freely, but during missions action is quite straightforward, because Remedy want build action and drama as efficiency as possible.

"Action is as good as you can expect from makers of Max Payne 1 & 2, but still there is situations where running is smartest thing to do". That action scene shown in E3 reminds me a bit like Evil dead scenes in forest. Especially when Alan try pull generator up and running. I'm only pleased if Remedy can build tormenting atmosphere to game without gimping action to unbearable clumsy like it was in RE5.

Damn I love those screenshots. This on my 46" LCD with 5.1 Sound... I really want this game.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

So sad to see the superior PC version delayed. Hopefully for X360 owners their version will only get little to none downgrades in general gameplay quality.

No sandbox?...thank god. Big sandbox and horror DOES NOT WORK!

Branching paths? sure
Multiple people to talk to? amazing
But GTA like sandbox is not needed for horror games.

This. I'd much rather the creepy approach that was shown at E3 than a sandbox approach. That said, it's looking to be a FANTASTIC freakin game, I can't wait.

Yeah, I agree. The game looks great, I really hope it lives up to the hype!
