Forums - Sony - Rumor: Netflix on PS3? Netflix Says Yes

I dont think Sony would do this, because then their Video Store would not makae any money.

Around the Network

Netflix uses Silverlight a Microsoft product so building it into the firmware would make Sony responsible for the license fees... something probably gets eased up on because they have the service on Xbox 360.

Firmware 3.00 please :D

I'm sure Netflix wants to be present on as many platforms as possible. They'd be dumb if they didn't.

It's probably so easy to port the streaming code to another platform that this costs peanuts to them, with the potential of very big return.

hmm the ps3 have browser and streaming support. ;). so yeah it's really easy.

unless they have deal somewhere *coughs* money moves the world =(.

The PS3 browser can't support Silverlight - for MS, it was a download off LIVE. I had Netflix before and even streamed some movies before, but wasn't a fan. Decided to try it again and was totally impressed. I watch it a few times a day and for $9 a month, you can't beat it. AND you get movies at your house too.

You may see it on a PS3, but you'd see Netflix talking about it - really hyping it up because it's biz for them too.

I'm calling BS on this.
