Puberty is still in effect for this young chap it seems
said: 1. It is called "" as a play on words concerning the word "COG" which stands for the "Coalition of Organised Governments." 2. Fans had been calling to battle and ride Brumaks since right after the release of the first Gears. You cannot a MAJOR scene from a game just a few months before release. 3. Too this day, Gears 1/2 pull off this cover system better than any other game with a similar one. That is why they are praised. 4. Seriously, just leave the forums for a week or two and cool off. The Microsoft hating and Sony humping is getting psycho. |

I enjoy discussing video games.
You appear to have a compulsive need to defend the PS3, which unfortunately manifest's itself most strongly in attacking the Xbox 360.
starcraft - Playing Games = FUN, Talking about Games = SERIOUS
Did you really think this thread was a good idea?

Gears of War is not rated higher than the MGS series Montana. And The best cover system belongs to uncharted. Such smooth controls too.

Gears are also part of machines, and they help the machine to work. ... It's a pun. "Gears in War" would have ruined the pun and not made any sense. Also, it would have sounded stupid. Same for "Gears at War." |
I agree completely with this. From the very first time I head the title "Gears of War", I immediately thought of "dogs of war" and the gravity of that quote from Julius Caesar. Even though I've yet to play the game, simply hearing the title and what it infers through clever word use (plus another layer of "punnery": I didn't know until now that soliders in the game were referred to as "Gears") seems to set the tone of the story very clearly.
Marcus Antonius:
And Caesar's spirit, raging for revenge,
With Ate by his side come hot from hell,
Shall in these confines with a monarch's voice
Cry "Havoc!" and let slip the dogs of war,
That this foul deed shall smell above the earth
With carrion men, groaning for burial.
