not really. If Sony owns the IP then it's a first party no matter who is making it because games like God of War and R&C have 0 chance of going somewhere other than Playstation unless sony allows it.

It is not 1st party made... it is a fine line, but it is still easier this way

so God of War 1&2 are first Party but CoO is not !!!

also Resistance 1&2 are not first party but the PSP game is !!

the same same could be said about Halo 1-3 and ODST & Reach. Sorry but this logic fails, if you ask me if its the company property and has 0% chance of going to another platform then it's a first party. Look at Metroid and Nintendo as another example also.
