Forums - Microsoft - Bethesda's DLC's... Sigh

@MrBubbles

I've done that

So far I've done all this

Delete Point lookout (x6)
Re-download Point Lookout (x5)
Clear Cache (x1)
Update Fallout 3 (x3)
Delete DRM memory (x1)
Refresh and Renew DRM Memory (x1)
Recover Gamertag (x2)

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

You should call and get a refund.

@Aion, I have called to get a refund. After 1 hour on the phone. They managed to get it to work! All I need to do was delete my DRM memory from my harddrive and try again. Sheesh. Talk about your complex DLC download.

Well to comment on the OP itself, it's plainly obvious Bethesda has a big problem with getting their DLC to function correctly. Whether or not any individual in this thread has had a personal issue is irrelevent. There has been at least one or two DLC's that have had to be taken down moments after they entered the marketplace. There are plenty of different complaints on the net chronicling the many problems all four Fallout DLCs have had. The PC versions are supposedly in even worse condition.

Bethesda is frankly just rushing these out too quickly without doing the proper testing on them.

I'm glad you got your problem solved OP.

I have them on PC, and everything is perfect Onyxmeth.

Maybe they just don't like the 360?

Like I said, just because it hasn't affected everyone does not mean it isn't a problem. I've never gotten RROD myself. My two friends with 360's haven't gotten it either. I still know it was a huge problem affecting many people though.

I'll try to find more after some more Google searches, but that in itself is problematic.

@Onyxmeth, Yes. Although my own personal problems have been promptly displayed though out the thread. It is my intention to display a tone of disappointment when it comes to the Fallout DLCs. Between January to now. Within a period of 7 months they have been able to get about 5, which is absolutely great when it comes down to new content. However the amount of effort is beginning to show though, they are being released with bugs. People are having issues installing them, people are having issues even playing them.

It's not so much a matter at this point of whether or not we want the content. I'm willing to wait a longer period in between the DLCs if it means I don't have to run though hoops and hurdles just to get it working. Then pray it works all the way though.

They need to set a better and longer period for testing these DLCs. That's pretty much it.

Why must JRPG female leads suck so bad?

i noticed some severe frame rate issues in some areas of point lookout....i wish they had spent longer working on that...it ruined those couple parts of it for me.

from the FAQ
don't know if this helps...

"How do I start Point Lookout?
You must play the game for a couple of minutes for the Point Lookout quest to appear. Eventually, you’ll receive a message letting you know that a riverboat has docked at the mouth of the Potomac. Following[sic] your map to reach the riverboat to begin Point Lookout."

Although knowing Bethsoft, a bug of this quality is certainly not out of the question lol
