bad for the industry, good for my wallet.

Used games was purchased once and made money to the developers, and they are very important to retailers and for us when we want to buy an older game. You can find Uncharted 1 for 20 bucks at eBay, while the game brand new sealed cost 40 bucks, half of the price, great deal for me and the seller that don't have why stay with the game. Piracy is really a completely different thing, though. |
From a publisher's standpoint it's not. Both result in them not getting any money, both result in someone getting to play the game without paying them a penny. Just because the pirate doesn't lose any money in the transaction and you do, doesn't make the publisher feel anybetter, only the guy on e-bay is happy that you're not a pirate.

You can find me on facebook as Markus Van Rijn, if you friend me just mention you're from VGchartz and who you are here.

i honestly dont care. if i find a game i want i usually just buy it. i dont care if it is used or not. as long as it works. although i will buy a game that is new if it is just released or has only been out for a little while, if i find a game i have been wanting for a long time and it is used, but in good shape, ill totally buy it used.
Right, I think it's okay to buy old or hard to get games used. Because developers couldn't make much more money on them anyway.

Many people already bpuy a game thinking on selling it, and get different things just because they know if they don't like they can sell. If used games are so bad developers should invest in other ways of playing a short game that isn't worth full price for many, investing on rental market would be good solution.
I would be happy if publishers had their games on their site so if I wanted to buy say GTA VC- i could go to the playstation2 website and purchase it from there. More money for them and less searchign for me.
I'm all for the consumer's choice. Get the best deal for your money. Why the hell shouldn't be a Used market for VG ?? every other industry in the world has and companies live, so publishers/developers need to suck it up and deal with it and stop crying over spilled milk, although I'm against Gamestop's used policy of buying the game for $20 then selling it for $55 when the new one is only 5 dollars more it's a complete rip off.
I've no problem with buying used games.
I just give them a once over with disinfectant, and I'm good to go.

I sold a mario game to gamestop for 18 dollars- they went and marked it as New and charged 35. Epic lies :p (i knew it was mine because i marked the back with a marker)
