well isnt it obvious, JRPGs are made in japan so they are gonna have the anime, and since videogames are interactive pieces of work, jrpgs can be viewed like interactive anime.

No.. I'm just wondering if I'm the only one who's noticed.
Pixel Art can be fun.
| Soriku said: @Magnific Don't let FF XIII's style fool you, it's still going to have anime archetypes, and the designs are already anime-esque (long hair, spiky hair, etc.) |
I really don't mind anime archetypes or the design (as I am a true anime and manga fan, btw), I just don't want it to be shonen-focused, that's all. I'm frankly tired of shonen manga/anime, and I feel I've outgrown that, I just don't like how formulaic they tend to be (not saying absolutely all shonen anime/manga is like this). Hopefully Final Fantasy XIII will have characters that aren't either black or white, but will exhibit the gamut of emotions and personalities other more "adult" and deeply developed RPGs present. Nothing beats Final Fantasy XII in character development, and that's comparing it with other gems in the genre...maybe older games like Xenogears and Xenosaga (which do have a really distinguishable anime look, but are very mature) have had great characters...and american RPGs just suck at characters, each and everyone of them...
