I think you're forgetting something,

£166 vs £293 plus one year head start.

If you compare the first few years of them in the market, the playstation 3 is actually doing better than the xbox 360.

In terms of now, just because the playstation 3 is not selling as much as the other consoles doesn't mean it's the least preferable. You have to consider its current pricetag to understand why it's not selling as much. Not everyone is able to buy an expensive system. It takes time to save up. Why do you think the market demands a pricecut in the first place?

I'm getting really tired of people using sales as an excuse.

• Achievements/Rewards - Does the console you own encourage you to continue playing?
• Console interface - Does the interface draw you in or do you feel lost?
• The online service - Which online service keeps on delivering and meeting your needs?
• Multiplatform games - For which console do you prefer to purchase Mulitiplat games?
• The library itself - Which library offers the most diverse selection of games?
• The controller - Does the controller make the experience more worthwhile?
• The exclusives - Which console boasts the best and most inovative exclusives?

Let's see...

1. Yes, achievements and trophies inspire me to continue playing. The best is when you get a bungie or a criterion who keeps adding achievements to your favorite games.

2. I prefer the XMB over NXE. I feel like NXE is a cluttered mess, and I prefer the look & organization of the old dashboard on the 360.

3. It's a toss up for me. I like both live and psn. I don't mind paying for Live. I'd pay for psn if I had to.

4. Usually buy multiplatform games on ps3. Most of the people I play online with are ps3 users so that's the main reason.

5. Library.... I'd say both have their strengths and weaknesses. I mean, I can't play mgs4 on 360 and I can't play halo 3 on ps3, so... yeah.

6. I've done a complete 180. I used to hate the dualshock3/sixaxis but after playing with it for a couple years I've grown pretty fond of it and prefer it over the 360's controller. The d-pad is what ruins the 360 controller for me.

7. Exclusives... as much as I love Halo and Gears, nothing will ever top mgs4 for me so I'm going to have to say that ps3 has the exclusives that appeal most to me.  Microsoft's exclusives are good and worth playing, but mgs4, uncharted, ratchet, god of war, and inFamous are unbeatable. 

For me, ps3 > 360. If you can afford it, snag both though.

Actually 360 is leading only because of USA. PS3 is leading in Japan even though 360 was launched before. And the gap beetwen 360 and PS3 in Others is only 1 million and it was bigger back when PS3 was launched in Others which means PS3 sold much more in less time than 360. If they were both launched at the same time PS3 would be winning for sure.

Same choice, same unbeatable reason.

If that would have been the case, MS would have change his strategy... not matter what assumptions you take, (if... if... if..then...blahblah) 360 is leading by more than 8 millions units and increasing....

To come back to the title of this thread, gaming experience : I have 25 years exp, I own both consoles, I had a PS2 in the past so for me it is the 360.

Best gaming experience is obviously provided by the Xbox 360. Why? Because I just bought one.

The first thing you do when you come back is start a flame war.

ps3 is superior but the x360 is the best console eva!!! so i'll go with the wii
