Forums - Sony - Uncharted 2 Over 90 Minutes of Cutscenes

I'm fine with that, I enjoy a good cutscene as long as it adds to the story/game.

As much as I love MGS and its confusing yet compelling storytelling, the cutscenes did go overboard in terms of length and heavy handedness. It's pretty much the reason why some people hate cutscenes. Uncharted is the antithesis of this.

If the game pulls MGS length cut scenes, it is going to seriously make me want to pass on Uncharted 2. The cut scenes better run few minutes long TOPS (outside of maybe the intro) and NOT require MGS type installs either. If it goes to MGS level cut scenes then Uncharted goes from one of the best movie-like experiences, to a SIMULATION of a movie-like experience.

That last MGS, in my opinion, is an example of how trying to create a movie-like experience can go wrong.

Awesome, that means better story.

I don't care if it does have super long cut scenes like MGS.  This and Modern Warefare 2 are still my most anticipated titles of 2009.  Uncharted 1 had a campy fun story that kept me interested and I expect the same from this one.  Nothing too deep hopefully.

People always complain about the MGS4 cut scenes but its not like the game wasn't fun between them, and if you have played all the MGS franchise you know that story is a big part of it.  Now whether you like how the story played out, is another can of worms.

I don't think Naughty Dog want to have anything to do with lengthy cutscenes.

90 mins cutscenes? Thats nothing. I would like even more.

Hopefully there's a good storyline behind the game if there's that many cutscenes if so I won't mind. Didn't mind MGS4's cutscenes because the graphics and the storyline was so good.

no longer interested in Uncharted 2 now, i hated MGS4 for its lack of gameplay, and if thats whats going to be done with Uncharted 2 as well, then count me out.
