Forums - Nintendo - Wii online system suggestions

Well here is what it would take to get me to cancel my Live subscription and resort to gaming only on Wii online!

- Universal Friend codes, (A code per console)

-A friends list where you can see what your friend is playing and join in if you want

-Wii Speak used in almost every online title to make the gameplay more immersive, even if you need your console code to unlock WiiSpeak (Protecting minors from profanity and unwanted advances)

- Downloadable demo's

- A more supported Nintendo channel

Their we go , actually WiiSpeak and Universal Codes would be all I really need to quite my Live Subscription today. I'd gladly play The Conduit instead of Halo on Live if I had universal codes and WiiSpeak!

3 years and people still cries for FCs? wow.

Maybe it's me but I never found them that bad. I think that gamers just became spoiled and lazy.

and after hearing all the stupid people that insults other people on XBL I really don't want that on my wii.

Besides, why on earth the WINING console who has a online systems that works would imitate THE LOSER?
Just doesn't make any sense.

Maybe because when it comes to the amount of online activity X-Box Live is killing Nintendo. It doesn't matter how good the hardware sales are , as far as online support goes Nintendo is getting their butt whooped. Considering Nintendo's service is free and has the support of a growing number of titles , still loosing so horribly to Microsoft is reason enough for Nintendo to make some concessions.

Also I agree I don't enjoy all the immature profanity on X-Box Live, but I prefer it to silence, and I usually play with friends or friends I've met online. This keeps the profanity and whimpy insults to a minimum!

Talking in a shooter for example, A team match. Makes the shooter so much better, its like playing co-op with tons of friends in your own home. You can warn friends of impending attacks, give orders , recieve orders. From a tactical point of view a shooter without voice chat just doesn't hold a candle to a shooter with voice chat. I know for many games voice chat really make the online experiance feel like the whole party is in your living room.

I want Nintendo to make WiiSpeak a standard on Wii games, and universal friend codes more then satisfy me. I don't want to see the codes removed altogether. I just want to see them integrated more seamlessly. I want my friends who buy the same game I do to be able to play with me right aways without having to go online and search for friend codes.

Example I have added tons of Conduit friend codes and even confirmed many of them to have added me. Yet I can never find any online. If we had a system where we could see friends online and had Universal codes the the 30 or so codes I have exchanged in the past over various games. Would now be able to play me in the Conduit!

Well I kinda like Wii online, because its really its own unique service just like how PSN and Xbox Live are their own services. I mean it would be nice if Nintendo would come up with a better way to chat with your friends easier as far as sending messages or chat invites of some sort and a more organized online arena. But I truly think Nintendo doesn't really care for it and that's what makes it the best online experience ever. Online to Nintendo is bringing your friends and family members to one Wii in the house and thats where the fun and excitement is at not through online.

I am completely alright with Friend Codes, I just wish it was the same freakin' code for every game.
I must have dozens of friend codes written down, its just hard to keep up with.

I own all of lastgen systems as of October 2008. (Finally got a Dreamcast)

I own every currentgen system except PS3.

@Joel cool - "Killing Nintendo"? Are people stop buying wiis and stop buys xboxes because of XBL?

Hah! yeah right!

So far that so megaawesomecoolwahetever XBL hasn't even made tckles to Nintendo so why do they should bother? Is not hurting them and is not taking them customers away and most of all, they are not killing them.

XBL is just for lazy nerds that hate to write codes in a paper and have real friends.

Because the way it appears right now, the industry is headed more and more online. DLC is the way of the future look at the new PSPGo alittle early for a DLC only console but it shows where were headed. Online functionality accounts for alot of Microsoft's profit and Nintendo being a competitor wants to reduce that profit.

Your right the lack of online isn't effecting Wii hardware sales. But it is effecting software sales, online multiplayer practically sells Halo and other games like "Frontlines:FuelOfWar". Their are so many titles that sell because of their online gameplay, and in that department Microsoft is killing Nintendo.

What I am saying as a Nintendo fanboy myself. Nintendo's online compared to Microsoft's online is a major blow to Nintendo. Microsoft can even charge for online and still beats Nintendo's numbers.

So why should Nintendo improve their online network? Simple Nintendo is a company of great prestige and constantly improving their products. Why should they allow the competition to out perform them online?

I would like to see something like Home, but in the Mushroom Kingdom. Everyone's Mii hangs out, lives in a Mushroom. Maybe after Nintendo has it running for awhile they could add new places to travel to from other games, like Lost Woods or Yoshi's Island.

Well I just got wiispeak since I got payed last Friday from work. I know their are only 1 game that supports wiispeak so I just wanted to get ready for conduit when it comes out. Anyway I found out again that you need more freaken friends codes for you to chat with someone who has wiispeak too. So what is the deal.

So my question is what do you think would make the wii online system better. Like if they ask you to make their online system from scratch what would you do.

For me I would first take away friend codes you need for every game you play. The only friend codes I could see leaving is for the console it self, but when you add someone an invite should be sent to the other person consle. I would also start using wiispeak into more online games since it makes games more fun. LIke WAW team is no fun at all without talking to someone. So adding wiispeak will make those games sooooo much funner.

I would just want wii codes and no other friend codes. anyways reason for the quote: there are 2 wii speak games

^click the license to level it up! Please, and thanks in advance!

=D

maybe add a simple feature that would send all your friendcodes for all the game you and your friend have to your friend if he/she is a wii console friend.
