Thats a funny forum. Didnt realise that the general public wrote on a non existant forum. I'm talking about average joe. Dont thnk because on VGChartz the fanboys show the majority. They actually dont. It's the only place I talk on that I get sh*t. It never used to be this way when I joined back in 2007. There was still fanboy wars. But nowhere near as bad as multiplat games getting screwed over just to win a graphics fanboy war.

this game definitely looks on par with Killzone 2, dunno bout Uncharted 2 cause we haven't seen enough jungle in LP2 so far. but considering the scale of LP2 i would say that it does look better than KZ2 and Uncharted 2. when they first shown gameplay videos of LP2 AFTER KZ2 RELEASE people were saying that it's definitely uber high pc version of the game and then we found out that it was 360 version so yeah this game IS the best looking console action game.

that friggin huge monster in the demo is one of the smallest bosses in the game(it was confirmed by developer of LP2) and if they can manage to make graphics on par with KZ2 and Uncharted 2 and still make LP2 even bigger and more badass than anything then this game is THE BEST LOOKING GAME.

I don't like ad hominem attacks from any side, but of course I've told you several times that I think that you're too prone to hyperbole :)

Anyway, regarding your links, I don't think that they will be very poignant. After all, you're likely exchanging a prevalent opinion greatly based on console affiliation demographic for another.

But I can remind you that Uncharted 2 has been praised as best graphics of E3 - or even best graphics of any console game - by numerous critics.

A quite unbiased source such as Digital Foundry (nowadays hosted by Eurogamer) still regards KZ2 and Uncharted 1 as the current top dogs when it comes to visual prowess on consoles and ran in-depth series on them. They also made an annotated version of the Uncharted 2 trailer to point out its many wonderful details of animation, lighting, HDR, motion blur, and the many improvements over the first one.

On technical forums such as beyond3d there were discussions abouth the presentations made by Guerrilla about the KZ2 engine and its deferred rendering techniques for lighting and post effects.

This is not to say that technical discussion should dictate what you find more beautiful or impressive. Just that if you want to look for different and unbiased opinions, there's other ways than choosing an audience that more closely mirrors your personal stance.

It's not choosing an audience that mirrors my stance. I would never choose a tech place for a discussion on what looks prettier. Give 2 people 2 chocolate bars. One is a Mars bar and the other is a normal brand bar, but just like a Mars bar. If you dont tell him which is which, that person will likely choose either. This brings me to why I and many others can say what looks more impressive without knowing that KZ2 has 1 more polygon on the right shoe of the characters than say RE5 does.

All I'm saying is people attacked in this thread for no reason. And I cant believe that PS3 fans get this way over a multiplatform title. As a 360 fan I'm chuffed it looks great and with 4 player split screen coop. Something which good looking PS3 exclusives lack is 4 player splitscreen coop. Even Uncharted 2 only has 2 player coop. IS it splitscreen or over netwrok?

I'm sure games like LP2 would look even better again if the engine could soley concentrate on just single screen.  And not have to accomodate split screen smoothly.

Firstly, Uncharted 2 has 3 player co-op, but I don't think it is local

Anyway, let's see how many graphics awards U2: AT won:

While game critics had no best graphics award, Uncharted 2 did get game of the show, no doubt due to its great graphics
1up, again, no best graphics award avaliable, but it won game of the show
Gametrailers, it won best graphics
Gamespot, it won best graphics
IGN, it won best graphics technology

You mix exagerate with enthusiasum. Maybe some people have lost their love for games, but I see nothing wrong with getting excited for something I love.

As for those forums, they perfectly show my point. Here it's PS3 fan says " looks ok, water looks crap. detail is average, and the effects are ok."

You know what my favourite game is this gen? It's CoD 4. However, Uncharted is the best looking game that I have played. If you had said something like this game looks great, not this could possibly be the greatest thing ever, and you do it all the time. It is nothing to do with what console it is on, I think Gears of War 2 looks better than this. And that stuff is just crap I read just as many comments which were not really excited about it as there were who adored it

I'm just saying that if you think that general forums are driven by console affiliation, then quoting a different general forum is not likely to bring more significative content. It's always mob rule, just a different mob :) Or to put it in a positive light, it's a vocal opinion of a different audience of similar behaviour. My notes about E3 critics awards and tech sites were simply to point at different alternatives.

And as I said, personal attacks should be beneath us and some reactions were not proprtionate to your usual enthusiasm. On the other hand, do yourself a little self-criticism, in that retorting to anyone who disagrees with your opinion by saying that they're PS3 fanboys is also not conductive to a serene debate.

Yep, I know... I usually read through the nasty comments on the Eurogamer articles. But it's at least an informed opinion from someone who has no console bias though he might have preferences when it comes to single games or techniques or styles, exactly like those of the devels on 3d forums. I was merely trying to point at sources who are likely to discuss the games indipendently from the platform they belong to, not certainly to an estabilished truth.

Great, ANOTHER game ripped of colour to be "cool". The first game was so pleasing on the eyes with its natural colours, but ofcourse the game can't be AAA without being good ol' gray.

Anways we will forget it. I created the thread thinking all PS3 fans and 360 fans would join forces and rejoice that LP2 looks awesome and looks to play awesome. It's the last time I do that here. I really thought everyone would be blown away together. Personally I think it's said a multithread turned out this way. If I had the same thread title here on VGChartz but put Uncharted in the title the thread would be a gleeful wonderful place.

I'll leave talking about multiplat graphics to the M$ section and other forums. I'm off to play PGR4 and BIA: HH.
